Hubs and I sat down to talk about our unpopular approach to submission to one another in our marriage. We really treat each other as equals versus the commonplace approach of the wife being almost subservient to the husband. We divide and concur home tasks and both contribute financially. We know that this is OUR approach to marriage, which may not apply to everyone. And that's okay!

We understand submission is a spiritual duty in which we both listen, learn, and grow. We believe we have been redeemed from the curse of the land and law, so we work to reclaim what unity in marriage looked like before the fall. How do y'all approach submission with your spouse in your marriage?

If you are in an interracial marriage, PLEASE stop using your black spouse to hide your subtle racism! ⁣⁣Because white spouses in mixed-race marriages are not exempt!

You CAN be married and DEEPLY in love with a black person and STILL have discriminatory thoughts and habits that are buried deep & still need to be purged.⁣⁣

WHY? Because our society devalues black lives and that stuff is embedded into the music, movies, textbooks, fashion, art, schools, and every facet of life. It gets ingratiated by osmosis in very unsuspecting ways.⁣⁣

Currently, John does NOT say... “I have a black wife, so what I said or did is not racist/ discriminatory/ prejudice.” ⁣ If he says/ does something that might be off, he listens. Period!

For this SAME reason stop using the fact that you may have black “friends” to “prove” your innocence when you do and say racist things. *If you are the black partner please stop condoning and being quiet about spouses discriminatory habits!⁣

My husband received a message from one of his (white) good friends concerning thoughts he had about the black community and how we need to “fix” our issues. He is looking for clarity on his ignorant thoughts so…⁣ ⁣ My good friend and I got on IG live to educate everyone (myself included) with true facts, statistics, and information concerning the black community so we won't EVER get it wrong again! ⁣

This was HEAVY on my heart, so I pulled out my phone to talk during one of my walks last week. I debated uploading it, but after the resurrection sermon I heard today, I knew I needed to be obedient.⁣ ⁣ God is NOT surprised by this worldwide pandemic we are currently living through!⁣ ⁣ There is a very clear separation that is occurring WITHIN the body of Christ. Either we are going to live by Kingdom power or we are going to let the fear of the world crush us.⁣ ⁣

Either we are going to faithfully walk in God's economy or we are going to speak death to our finances.⁣ ⁣ The thing I know in the bottom of my belly is that God NEVER leaves His people. He always provides a plan of escape.⁣ ⁣

Are we gone be real Christ-followers or Lukewarm believers who don’t REALLY understand the dunamis resurrection power of the living God!?⁣ ⁣ The choice is always ours to make. I pray that you dig deeper, ask more, and choose wisely!

ONE-ON-ONE COACHING WITH ME:

Can you guess what my biggest hack to stay consistent with my fitness is? I can tell you one thing, it’s not a lose-fat-quick scheme or an unrealistic "internet plan". I do have several methods that I use to get me back in a fitness grove after I have fallen off the wagon (follow up podcast soon come), but the one I talk about in today's episode, adds #accountability to my life, which improves my #discipline, and therefore my consistency!

I know many of us struggle with staying consistent with a fitness routine, so I encourage you to pray and seek God on ways to help you personally figure out a plan of attack. I also want to encourage you to never give up! I don't care how many times you have stopped and started over! Keep trying! If you keep getting back up and inviting the Holy Spirit to assist you, it WILL eventually stick and your whole life will change!
