I Stand with Israel Night: Pastor Dan Livingston City Director of CUFI( Christians United for Israel) Shares about his recent trip to Israel

Greg, Pat, and John share about Dan Livingston’s, Pastor of Transformation Church and City Representative for Christians United for Israel, his trip, along with 50 other pastors from America to the nation of Israel. He shares his accounts as he encountered soldiers in the IDF, the Iron Dome, the border of Israel, and the father of the kidnapped boys in Israel who was murdered at the hands of terrorism. While walking the soil of Israel, Dan was encouraged as he experienced the resolve of the Jewish people. While talking to soldiers of the IDF supporting the Iron Dome, there was no anxiety amongst them. There is such a resounding faith amongst the people of Israel. He also shares his own experiences of the tunnels dug by Hamas under the soil of Israel. What he shares, you won’t hear on mainstream media and it will surprise you. Amidst the people of Israel, it is leadership of Israel, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, that Dan shares he’s never met someone who has had a passion and love for his people more than the Prime Minister.

Dan continues to share the importance of the events in Israel by looking at the history of what has brought us to these present events that have been seen on media. What the media consistently broadcasts is the “land issue” of Israel. The truth is the land issue has already been dealt with. The Bible accounts the covenant the Lord has with the people of Israel and the land that was given to Israel, not in 1948, but over 3,000 years ago. The land that was given to Israel is not the present borders of what you may be familiar with, but land that stretches, surprisingly, far greater than one might think. Dan also accounts of past actions within the United Nations that presented the idea of a 25% and 75% land division. Twenty-five percent would be given to the people of Israel and 75% would be given to the Arab Muslims. Israel accepted and the Arabs denied it. When looking at the entire region of the Middle East, Muslim nations make up 640 times what Israel makes up. 640! Is it really about a land issue? Dan also shares some staggering realities about the truth of Palestinians and the origins of their own history. What is repeatedly being left out of media is going to surprise you. In the second part of this 2 Part Segment, Greg, Pat, and John, continue the conversation about the “Stand for Israel” an event organized by the Pensacola Jewish Federation that occurred in Pensacola, Florida. After sharing multiple interviews of locals from the Gulf Coast, from business owners, and state representatives, they go deeper into the perspective of those who were standing for Gaza. Two young men share their perspective and the points of concern from their point of view: the United Nation’s 99.99% assurance of their findings within Gaza, the lack of food to the Palestinian people, the “dense population” of Gaza, Hamas tunnels under Israeli homes, and Palestinians only being given minutes to abandon their homes before receiving rocket fire.

It is encouraging to have the full spectrum of what is happening on the border of Gaza and Israel to be able to respond to these ideas. As shared in recent articles, IDF soldiers have not only sent leaflets, but also text messages and gone door to door knocking on Palestinian homes to warn them to leave their homes before a missile strike comes, aka, “The Knock”. While at the same time, according to Prime Minister Netanyahu, there are Israeli civilians in Southern cities of Israel that only have a mere 15 seconds to find the safety of a bomb shelter. After discussing the realities of Hamas activity involving rocket launchers and children, it was refreshing to hear the men interviewed express how it would be disturbing to know that was happening, anywhere in the world.

What is important to understand is the role of the United Nations in this conflict. The men interviewed shared that the United Nations has expressed with a 99.99% assurance, there are no rockets. When you take into consideration a brief 3 minute video and the unstoppable Communist and Muslim voting block that have been established within the United Nations, it can easily be seen that the stance the United Nations takes on Israel, is against Israel. It is this full spectrum understanding that helps when people proudly declare, “Let’s take this to the United Nations.” If it’s already known that any vote on the subject of Israel within the walls of the United Nations is going to come out against Israel, it won’t matter who or how a matter is brought to the United Nations. The outcome will still be against Israel.

In the fullness of this event, it is wonderful to be able to discuss the realities of what is happening not only in Israel, but also within Gaza, amidst Hamas, and the Palestinian people. Support the economy of Israel; 3) Go to Israel and stand with the people of the land of Israel; 4) Pray for Israel. Pray for the peace of Israel. What some might not be aware of is the different ways that one can volunteer to be in support of Israel. Representative for Volunteer Israel, Jerry Barnet, shares how someone as a civilian can travel to Israel and be in support of the Israeli Defense Forces. John, Pat and Steve share the attention raising news of soon to be released technology, Microsoft’s Cortana. In direct competition to Apple’s Siri, Cortana aims to fill the place of a human personal assistant, just more personable. In order to best develop this technology, Microsoft interviewed actual personal assistants to get a better understanding of what exactly they do. What they found out will actually surprise you. When is increasing technology too much technology? When is it enough? As the church, we must not submit to technology; technology must submit to us. It is moments like this, that reinforces nothing beats a physical Bible, a journal, and a pen. Entertainment fuels the flesh, while joy fuels the soul. When we remember the finished work of the Cross and what Jesus Christ did for us, it causes rejoicing. Leonard Ravenhill said: “entertainment is the devil’s substitute for joy”. The more we understand the joy of the finished work of the cross, the more the entertainment of the world fades away. Amidst the increasing darkness and evil in the world, don’t get discouraged; rejoice in who Jesus is and what He has done for you.
