  • Are You Jonah?
Are You Jonah? What Epic Outcome Weighs in the Balance?
As Greg and Pat ask the question; are you Jonah? They continue to discuss how God is speaking and based upon what He has shown and revealed it is going to be rough. At the same time God is waiting for people to respond. The citizens of Nineveh, in the Bible, weighed in the balance of one man’s obedience, a man named Jonah. It’s important to note that it’s not about Jonah or Nineveh, it’s about God. Jonah’s concern was that the people would receive forgiveness; the truth is we must check our hearts if we want to see people wiped out for their disobedience towards God. This is surely not God’s desire. The truth is that the people of Nineveh did not know what Jonah knew. Today America is a lot like Nineveh. Entire cities weigh in the balance and America is on the verge of being destroyed as we know it. America is waiting on you Jonah! People need a chance to repent and to turn to God. How many people today know that America is shaking and quaking because people are not doing what God told them to do? What is being thrown overboard over Jonah’s refusal to do what God said to do? Are you Jonah? You don’t have to be thrown overboard. Look in the mirror today and do what God told you to say and do what God told you to do.

  • Memorial Service for South African President Nelson Mandela
Memorial Service for South African President Nelson Mandela: A Man that Stood Against Injustice
Greg and Pat discuss the memorial service held in South Africa for Nelson Mandela. Today marks the day the world remembers a powerful man that brought transformation to South Africa. Leaders from around the world gathered in the same soccer stadium where the South African rugby team won the 1995 World Cup which Mandela used as a way to unify the country. It is important to remember that without Mandela taking a stand, black South Africans would still be in bondage. In the same way without George Washington and his rag tag army we would still be under Great Britain. When we have perspective we can begin to see more clearly as to why President Barack Obama who has African roots would sent back the bust of Winston Churchill who represented a period of Great Britain’s colonization of Africa. They further discuss Mandela’s wise plan to unify his nation through South Africa’s rugby team winning the world cup. This amazing moment in South Africa’s history was commemorated in the movie “Invictus”. They continue to discuss the stirring moment when the first African American spoke and honored the first black South African President. This was truly a historic event that brought the attention of the world to pause to honor the greatest son of South Africa. They continued to discuss how the stadium was filled with South Africans singing and dancing in the celebration of Mandela’s life and legacy. They continue to discuss the movie “2016: Obama’s America”. This movie in part discussed the colonization of Africa again giving us perspective on how this affected Africans. The truth is that Mandela was tortured. President Obama’s own grandfather was tortured in Kenya. They continued to ask the question what does the end of Obama’s term look like? Could we really be going back to colonization? Nelson Mandela was one who stood up. The call on Mandela’s life was so strong he could not be stopped amidst being in prison he was still able to have a profound effect on the nation. They encourage us to be a George Washington, to be a Nelson Mandela and be willing to stand against unjust suffering. Be a person who stands for God and truth.

  • Reverend Billy Graham’s Son says his Father’s Health is in Decline
Reverend Billy Graham’s Son says his Father’s Health is in Decline
As Greg, and Pat discuss how Franklin Graham, Reverend Billy Graham’s son, says his father’s health is in decline. According to CBN News “Graham told Charlotte station WSOC-TV at a Christmas charity event, "My father's health has declined quite a bit in the last few days. I'm not even sure he knows Nelson Mandela has passed away. He hasn't been able to get his strength back. Vitals are good. He's just weak and at home." They continue to remind us of the mantle that is on Billy Graham’s life and when he goes to heaven the prophetic word is that his mantle will spread across the world. They encourage us to remember this day and appreciate the sacrifice others have made to have this mantle. The harvest is coming. Please continue to pray for the Graham family.

  • Remembering South Africa’s Greatest Son Nelson Mandela
South Africa’s Greatest Son- Nelson Mandela: A Transformed Man Who Transformed a Nation
As Greg, and Pat discuss South Africa’s greatest son Nelson Mandela. They share the transformation of one man and how this man’s own transformation transformed a nation. Nelson Mandela went through a metamorphosis just as dramatic as a caterpillar transformed into a butterfly. He went into prison as one man and came out of prison another man. They continue to discuss about the life of Nelson Mandela who was the first black African attorney in South Africa and congressman. His legacy is of one who promoted peace and was Dr. Martin Luther King’s Jr. counterpart doing the same as Dr. King did in the United States with 8% of South Africans were oppressing the other 92% of South Africa. Mandela tried for twenty years to pursue peace to free South Africa in the sixties against apartheid through peaceful protest. During these times of peaceful protest police in South Africa would shoot into the crowds and many were shot in their backs. Nelson Mandela realized this wasn’t working. They continue to discuss how George Washington and Nelson Mandela were of the same thought. George Washington was either going to be seen as a hero or a villain and he knew it would be over if he didn’t succeed. The same was true of Nelson Mandela he started out as a hero to perceive villain and after 27 years of imprisonment he metamorphasized into a hero of a nation. In Nelson Mandela’s last speech before he served a 27 year sentence to prison he said “I have fought against white domination. I have fought against black domination…” When we have a proper perspective of times, season, and events we are able to have compassion for people. In the same year, 1948 Israel became a nation and apartheid began in South Africa. As a result of apartheid, blacks in South Africa were oppressed and were not allowed to vote. Nelson Mandela’s autobiographer, Richard Stengel, said that Mandela’s 27 years of imprisonment in the infamous Robben Island burned away the excess resulting in Mandela leaving prison a different man than how he went in.
The Bible tells us in Romans 12:1-2 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. When we rely on the cross we put our trust in Jesus and that releases God’s Spirit to empower us. This is another reason we have process. We need to go through a complete transformation. They further discuss how in 1988 a concert was held in London to celebrate Mandela's 70th birthday singing "Free Nelson Mandela” it was broadcast around the world, except for South Africa. Just two years later in 1990 Nelson Mandela was released from prison and voted for the first time in 1994 and was overwhelmingly elected as the first South African Black President. He became a transformational leader because he first became a transformed man. He later established a council to openly share how oppression and pain brings healing to nation and unified a nation when they won the World Cup. It is said that was the day white South Africans anointed Mandela as King. They further discuss a speech that Nelson Mandela delivered on Easter in 1994. This speech was delivered according to Black Christian News Network, where Nelson Mandela referred to Jesus Christ as “Our Risen Savior.” Black Christian News Network reports that after reading the Beatitudes found in Matthew 5:1-12 he began praising God for "The Good News borne by our risen Messiah who chose not one race, who chose not one country, who chose not one language, who chose not one tribe, who chose all of humankind! Each Easter marks the rebirth of our faith. It marks the victory of our risen Savior over the torture of the cross and the grave. Our Messiah, who came to us in the form of a mortal man, but who by his suffering and crucifixion attained immortality." This was a man who was truly transformed.
They further discussed those in the Bible like Joseph and Paul who suffered greatly and was themselves greatly transformed and was used as well to bring transformation. However, there is one who went through such a transformation; born of a virgin, treated unjustly, came to set us free, and was willing to be die on a cross because he loves us. One who was willing to say Father forgive them for they know not what they do being the first in the line of many including Nelson Mandela that would bring transformation through a surrendered life and willingness to forgive.

  • A REAL Conversation on Health CARE
A REAL Conversation on Health CARE: 20 percent of Americans are using 80 percent of the healthcare?
As Greg and Pat have a real conversation on health care. Today health care has dominated the news of the day and there are many different opinions as to how health care should be administered in America. They continue to discuss the book The American Health Care Paradox. In this book the author says we are paying more money and getting less. It is reported that 20 percent of Americans are using 80 percent of the healthcare. The question to ask from a Christian’s perspective is should the government handle health care or should the church break out of its narcissistic state and help to do this? They continue to share some examples regarding people who have gone through our healthcare system with not the best results. One such example was a gentleman who was diabetic and because the shoes he owned had holes in them his feet got wet and this persisted the end result was him having to have his toes amputated at the tune of $17,000 and then some time later his leg was amputated as well. They ask whether it would have been better for the church to buy this man a $50 pair of shoes and minister to his needs. The bottom line is to think holistically and understand that capitalism may not be the best scenario in all situations and we should be mindful of those who are not able to secure the healthcare they need for whatever reason. Greg also shares a personal story regarding how his mother just made it through a misdiagnosis and her heart had been under attack. She was in so much pain she could not even lay on her back. She eventually was able to be seen again by doctor who was able to zero in on the problem and provide a solution for her successful recovery where she is now able to walk around. They continue to discuss how when we hear other peoples arguments they may seem right but in the end if we don’t take care of each other God will send someone else who will. Why not open up our own hospitals and Jesus centered unions as the Presbyterians and the Catholics have established hospitals before. It’s time for us to do something about this.

  • Childless by Choice, America & the American Church?
Childless by Choice, America & the American Church?
Greg, John, and Pat discuss why parents don’t want children and how come children don’t want parents and why the government is stepping in trying to take over the role of parenting. They continue to discuss a disturbing practice called re-homing. This practice involves adoptive parents seeking how they can “re-home” the child they adopted because they no longer want to parent them. This is a practice that is reportedly being called the “The Child Exchange” and it is being done on the internet. CBN reports “One post from a mother who adopted a Guatemalan 11-year- old “I am totally ashamed to say it but we do truly hate this boy.” They continue to discuss the travesty and how the child is rejected twice. They continue to discuss how many people involve themselves in the conversation of parenting when in fact they have never had children or they aborted the child they did have. To make matters worse the government wants to play a role in the lives of your children yet they want to control how you raise and discipline them. One example they discussed was that of a Judge. If someone in the courtroom refuses to comply with the judge’s instruction the judge will have the person physically arrested put in cuffs and escorted to jail. However, the government wants parents to discuss time out with their children as opposed to giving them the discipline they need. They continue to discuss a group called No Kidding which is an international social club for childfree couples and singles. One of their alleged members said that they were “indifferent” toward children. Indifferent is defined by the dictionary as without interest, not caring, apathetic, and impartial. They continue to discuss how we got here in society where parents don’t want children and if some are honest they hate them. Some pursued having children out of idolatrous reasons for what they can benefit out of having children and once they have them and now hate them it’s their same idolatry that refuses to allow them to go to a loving family who wants them less they look bad for giving up their children. They go further to ask the question if what we are seeing as society’s view towards children a result of the church’s view of winning souls for the Lord. Many in the church won’t win a single person to the Lord in their lifetime. The truth is that it takes time and less of oneself to win the loss. Is the church fruitless because of the idolatry of self? They further discuss the need for Revival to sweep across the country and for a Great Awakening like the previous Great Awakening that have had tremendous spiritual impact on our nation. Dear God, end abortion send revival.

Remembering South African President Nelson Mandela Who Passed Away at 95
Greg, John, and Pat remember South African leader Nelson Mandela who passed away yesterday December 5, 2013 at the age of 95. They continued to share about Nelson Mandela, who is being called South Africa’s greatest son, life and the things he did and suffered for throughout his life. They share how Mandela gave his life to end anti-apartheid and the injustices that were committed to black South Africans although they represented nearly 90 percent of the population. For 20 years his movement was one that began with nonviolence but then according to CBN he took upon a philosophy of armed struggle. “In 1964 he was sentenced to life in prison for planning to topple the government. When he was finally released in 1990 he had a much more tolerant attitude towards his opponents in the government.” Mandela would spend 30 years in prison. Those 30 years he spent in prison transformed him from anger to hope and reconciliation and he eventually became the first black president of South Africa. They continue to discuss the prophetic word given by Kim Clement during the time of Mandela’s imprisonment which spoke of the first black South African President.

  • Kingdom Impact 100
Greg encourages us to begin a Kingdom Impact 100 group in our cities. Essentially this would be a group of one hundred believers who contribute $1,000 each. Collectively they would have $100,000 dollars at their disposal to invest in charities, groups and initiatives that would advance the kingdom of God. Instead of being concerned with the removal of the Ten Commandments from Federal property buy land and put up the Ten Commandments for all to see. He also shares how erecting phone prayer booths like what has been done in Kansas is a good start as well. Kingdom Impact 100 will you start one in your city?

And God said, “Let there be lights in the vault of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark sacred times, and days and years” The heavens are God’s billboards. They encourage us by letting us know that God is trying to get our attention. We need to make God our God and not money and jobs.
