Public Prayer vs. Private Prayer: Why would God be more impressed and more likely to respond to a public prayer than to a private one?

Greg, John, and Pat discuss a question that is being decided in the Supreme Court whether public prayer will be allowed. The question that is being asked is why would God be more impressed by a public prayer than a private prayer? FOX News is reporting that “The Supreme Court will hear arguments this week about prayers in public life, this latest deliberation revolving around a case from Greece, N.Y., and the recitation of prayers during town board meetings. The board used to begin each of its meetings with a moment of silence.” What has it come to that the Supreme Court who has equal power to the legislative branch and the executive branch will hear a case revolving prayer? They continue to discuss the question why would God be more impressed and more likely to respond to a public prayer than to a private one. They ask this of the church. Public prayer and a public stand for God often but not always points to what has already privately been prayed in our hearts. Jesus said that if we are ashamed of him that he will be ashamed of us before His father in heaven. This is just another sign of the humbling of a nation. Instead of bringing other issues before the court this is what Americans want to bring before the court. If you are ashamed to pray aloud you must be open to the idea you have not made Jesus the Lord of your life. That can change but you must first address what is a reality in your life so you can move forward in God.

He is being moved to a prison that is more life threatening than the infamous Evin prison he was being detained in. If we don’t stand up for him we will be him. According to CBN News “Iran is reportedly just weeks away from producing enough uranium for a nuclear warhead.” Israel has been sounding the alarm on Iran's fast-approaching capabilities to mostly deaf ears around the globe. They continued to discuss the threat that a nuclear Iran is to Israel, the United States and the world. It is being reported that Iran’s new president has started a “charm” offensive because the sanctions are working. However a wolf in sheep’s clothing is still a wolf. Iran is the only country who has a government that has a ministry secretary in charge of exporting radical Islam. The same radical Islam that the FBI has allegedly purged information the United States had according to Congresswoman Michelle Bachman. They continue to discuss why the United States did not help the citizens of Iran to seek their freedom during the Arab Spring and pose the question whether the President’s closest advisor, Valerie Jarret who was also born in Iran, had any influence on the President’s decision to ignore the people of Iran. They continue to discuss a recent interview posted in The Jewish Voice from Germany where they discuss some of the ways the Jews got along in Germany before and how they live now in Germany. They continue to discuss one of the realities that came out of this interview that how they treated Jews and Christians is not something that is only restricted to Germany but what is happening all over the world in their treatment of Jews and Christians. They continue to discuss how we are entering a season that tries men’s souls. The only way to make it is to abide daily, hear God’s voice and obey what he tells you to do.

Greg, Steve, and, Pat discuss if sometimes going to church is more bad than good. The Bibles says in 1 Corinthians 11:17 “In the following directives I have no praise for you, for your meetings do more harm than good.” They continue to discuss the great lengths some go to just to go to church instead of just “being” the church. Whatever they have been doing it has not been producing the fruit God desires. The emphasis is more about going to church instead of just being the church. Division is everywhere among the church. So many things were going wrong during the time of Paul’s writing under the unction of the Holy Spirit. They were just thinking about themselves much of what is taking place among the church today. When you don’t think about others in the church you are not thinking about Jesus. Of course it can all look the same but the truth is it’s all about the motives. It’s truly time to examine whether you are still in the faith. Jesus makes it clear that whatever we do to others we are doing to Him. Our test lies in our ability to love God and love others. It matters what happens when the church comes together.

According to CBN News, “Former U.S. Speaker of the House and 2012 presidential candidate Newt Gingrich said President Barack Obama isn't doing enough to protect religious minorities that are under attack. "You look at the Muslim Brotherhood, which is burning down churches, you look at the radicals in Syria who have been beheading priests -- nobody in this administration and frankly, no one in our news media outside of places like The 700 Club and CBN, are willing to talk about the very real threat -- something which to his credit Rand Paul has talked about -- and that is that there is a war against Christians all across the region," he said.” They continue to discuss the recent resignation of the U.S. Ambassador for International Religious Freedom Dr. Suzan Johnson Cook who was nominated to this post after it sat vacant for nearly two years. They remain hopeful with a new ambassador that things will change and continue to share the need not to fall asleep and turn a deaf ear to persecution of countless Christians around the world.

John, Greg, and Pat discuss how God is not dead but ALIVE. They discuss how there is a lie that satan has been trying to spread through many people that he has been able to hold captive that God is not alive. You can hear these lies in the media and on colleges all across the country. These are satan’s futile attempts at discrediting God. In view of this they were excited about a new movie set to be released in the spring of 2014 called “GOD is not Dead”. The movie takes place on a college campus where an atheist professor gives out an assignment where the students need to write on a piece of paper that God is dead. One of the main characters is in the class who is a Christian refuses to comply with this assignment which infuriates the professor and a battle emerges. The story now becomes about how the student needs to prove that God exist if he is going to pass the course. Just from the trailer alone we find that God is lifted up. In Matthew 16:13-16 Jesus asks’ the disciples who do they say I am? Then he directs his question directly to Peter and He asks him; who do you say I am? You are the son of the living God.” God is indeed alive and He will take residence in your heart if you invite him in.
