  • Seeking Justice for Roy Middleton (Part 1 of 2)
Greg, John, and Pat discuss the recent shooting of Roy Middleton in Escambia County, Florida by Escambia County Sheriff deputies in the dark early hours in the month of July. Mr. Middleton was shot by Escambia Law Enforcement officers while he was in his own home, in his own car port, getting into in his own family car. The police fired 15 shots at Roy Middleton who allegedly did not respond to the police officers commands. Mr. Middleton was shot in his own house as he describes “It was like a firing squad”. They continue to discuss how it is challenging to respond to anyone in the midst of tragedy especially when you have been shot in the leg as Roy Middleton was. Roy’s car was riddled with bullets and he, although fortunately is alive, was shot in the leg which resulted in a shattered femur. Greg shares an account from his former days as an Escambia County Deputy, where he successfully apprehended a criminal and out of nowhere he was shot upon in the dark of night. He continues to explain how in the dark he couldn’t see who was shooting all he could see was the muzzle of the gun after the shots were fired. It is important from a Christian perspective to respond to what happened to Roy Middleton in view of what the Bible instructs us in Psalm 41:1 “Blessed are those who have regard for the weak; for the Lord delivers them in times of trouble.” This is a major injustice as well as appalling that a man who was on his own property, in his own car port, getting something out of his own car, to be fired upon by police officers who parked their police cars down the street. It begs to question as to what spirit is in the air that would cause anyone not to respond in a way that is void of empathy, acknowledgement or an apology for what was done to Roy Middleton. There is a huge vacuum of silence at the moment from the church and this should not be. It’s time to begin asking God how we should respond to this tragedy in our community. Our hearts go out to Roy Middleton as his request is for us to continue to pray for his healing and for his and his family safety. It is important to note that just like we have some doctors, teachers, and pastors that don’t necessarily need to be in their profession the same rings true for some police officers. There are some in law enforcement that need to find another profession. Those that work in public office must remember that they work for the citizens. Greg is quick to point out that there are many good police officers today just like there were good officers when he was a deputy. He continues to share how police officers like Doug Heist and Don Cook lost their lives in service to the citizens in Escambia County. These were fine officers that served the citizens of Escambia County and lost their lives in the line of duty. We just don’t honor them but all the police officers in Escambia County that have given their lives in the line of duty. We mustn’t forget that God is just and what happened to Roy Middleton should be acknowledged for the tragedy it was and to seek healing. All law enforcement work for the citizens and it’s the citizens that allow them to serve. The safety, protection and honor of all citizens since they are all made in the image and likeness of God should be highly regarded no matter who they are. Dear God forgive us of our sins and for Your church to rise up to bring healing to our communities and the nation.

  • Don’t Swing! LOVE! Ask Dr. King AND JESUS
Greg, John and Pat share about bullying but it is not what you might think. They speak about bullying that takes place from Washington DC. When someone is bullying someone they are trying to provoke them to act out and take a swing. They do this so they can release all the pent up anger, rejection and twisted emotions in them, it has nothing to do with you. It was President Theodore Roosevelt who first coined the term bully pulpit when referring to the Whitehouse as a terrific platform from which to advocate an agenda. Up to this point this famous Bully Pulpit had been used for new tax schemes for defending the nation, to expand national parks, to build monuments and to fight wars. BUT THERE'S A NEW”BULLYING SPIRIT” IN WASHINGTON DC... who is using it to Bully American's to GIVE UP THE CHRISTIAN GOD WE SERVE, and IT'S SUPREME LAW OF THE LAND the U. S. Constitution which the president, congress, and the supreme court swear to defend and acknowledge which is their only purpose of being there. Our leaders in Washington have poked American citizens and especially the Church, America’s founding fathers, and America’s Constitution in the chest so many times it can only be explained as President Theodore Roosevelt did…THEY ARE BULLYING THE AMERICAN PEOPLE, using Washington as a Bully Pulpit! Don’t fall prey to Washington DC’s Bully Pulpit and act out in rage. It’s time for the church to repent and instead of hitting the streets it’s time to hit our knees. We are seeing our nation being turned over. We need to turn back to God and follow the ways of those who have gone before us like Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. who stood up for what’s right in the right way before God and men. He was willing to lay down his life for the next generation.
“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14

  • Will Tim Tebow play for Gog and Magog (Russia)?
John, Greg and Pat discuss whether Tim will play for a Russian football team. According to the Christian Post one Russian team has offered him $ 1 million to play in just two games. They continue to discuss how Russia is trying to influence everything. They encourage Tim not to sell out for money. They also encourage others not to sell out as many have and they have regretted it. Judas sold Jesus out for just 30 coins and was so distraught he hung himself. No matter the amount of money, don’t sell out the gifts God has given you. Use your gifts and talents for God.

  • For the Love of God
Greg, John and Pat discuss how much God loves everyone and how he encourages those who love Him and walk with Him to love others. They continue to share how God is trying to give you perspective of His love for you. Since the time of the Garden of Eden with Adam and Eve, God began by covering man’s sin so that man can have relationship with Him and settled it once and for all with Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross. God made a way for us to have a relationship with Him. Everything is coming against the love of God. There is good news, Jesus Christ died for you. He didn’t die for religion but for relationship. God’s word says blessed are those who take care of the weak. Blessed are those who have regard for the weak.
Regard means to look up with particular feelings paying attention to people who have need. We need to honor the weak. If you take regard for the weak God will bless you. When we take care of the weak, those who are fragile, lacking strength and feeble they know that God loves them. It’s time to deny yourself and take care of those who are in need; the orphans, and widows. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was one who stood for the weak. He believed that there are more people for God but they are just asleep. Mother Theresa was another one who ministered to the weak. She would say, “I see the face of God in the face of their suffering”. When you love on the weak you give them the opportunity to turn to God and to give Him glory.

  • Would Dr. King even Let YOU Walk with Him Today? Ten Ways To Find Out
Greg shares about the pioneering life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and the ten commandments/commitments that he lived by. What audacity of those who prostituted a man who stood for justice for all Americans, who, if he was here today according to his “Ten Commitments”, which were required of those who would walk with him to follow, wouldn’t even be allowed to enter the door. Dr. King stood for what was right and expected those who were going to walk with him to do the same. These commitments were so important to his pioneering work, a true Apostle, he had these commandments/commitments put on a card and everyone who would join him in this pioneering work would have to agree to live by them and sign the card showing they agreed with them.

  • Brett, Luke and Bears, Oh My!
Greg, John, and Pat discuss Brett and Luke’s camping adventure. Brett shares how he and his son Luke had a father and son camp out and really enjoyed their time together. However, they discovered that their sleeping bags from Florida were not warm enough for the chilly area of Colorado. They decided the next morning to pack it up when Luke saw a bear about 40 feet away. Brett shared earlier with Luke not to worry about bears because he didn’t think they would see any even though they saw a sign that warned them of bears. He continues to share that as the bear got closer they made a dash to the truck and locked themselves in. The bear went through their campsite and over to their neighbors camp site and shook the back of their truck. Brett tried to warn the camper of the bears and they asked him if he was going to scare the bear away. Brett very bravely responded with a “No!” He continues to share that he has learned some wisdom on how to scare a bear away if this were to happen again. Greg also shares a camping experience he had with is son Gered. They brought everything with them for camping even a TV. He continues to share how they watched Ben Hur so loud that their nearby neighbor yelled to turn it down as they quickly learned they were not alone in the woods. They thought the food was secure since they locked their food in a rubber maid container only to find out that the food was attacked by mean squirrels. One of the squirrels took a bite out of the Rubbermaid container. They try to scare off the squirrels but the squirrels bowed up claiming the food.

  • Southern Baptist President says, The Bible Belt is Collapsing
Greg, John, and Pat discuss the recent statement made by the Southern Baptist Convention President Rev. Russell Moore, reported by CBN, when he said the Bible belt is collapsing. "We are not Americans first. We belong to another kingdom, and we will stand and speak for that kingdom," he said in a recent report in the Wall Street Journal. They continue to discuss it, God and country in that order. It’s one nation under God. They continued to share the importance of the Kingdom of God. We don’t worship the Bible but the God of the Bible. It’s time to remember those who have gone before us and who have been sold out to God and have given themselves completely like General Booth founder of the Salvation Army. This was a man who wore two suits one to wear in parades while people would throw garbage and food at and another for him to preach in. If we humble ourselves there is hope for a Third Great Awakening to sweep the land.

  • UPDATE: Navy Yard Massacre: Shooter Obssessed Violent Video Games
Greg, John, and Pat share an update regarding the Navy Yard Massacre as new details of the shooter, Aaron Alexis, emerge. The “Telegraph” reports that the shooter was obsessed with violent video games. CBN also reports that he had a history of disturbing behavior. They continue to share how we are made in the image of God with the ability to create in our imagination. You can’t feed yourself violent video games involving the splattering of blood, murders and rapes and think these images playing out in your mind will have no effect on you. Jesus said that if you have done it in your mind you have already done it. We have lied to ourselves when we have said we have done it only in our heart or head so that means we haven’t done it. The word of God tells us how we are to respond to things that enter our mind that is not of God in 2 Corinthians 10:4 “The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” The word of God demolishes strongholds. It’s time to get the junk out of your mind and out of your life. If we don’t we are going to continue to have “Navy Yard” massacres all across America.

  • Israel Loves on their Enemies
John, Greg, and Pat discuss how Israelis are loving on their enemies in particular Syrians. Syria has been involved in a 2 year civil war which has claimed the lives of over 100,000 people. They continue to share how some of those wounded are seeking medical attention at the Western Galilee Hospital in the northern Israeli town of Nahariya. Israeli soldiers have located Syrians who have been injured and they bring them to the hospital where they receive treatment many who would have died if they were not treated. According to CBN Dr. Massad Barhoum director general of Western Galilee Hospital is quoted as saying “Love your enemies.” When the wounded Syrians come in they are afraid especially the children and they hear words from the medical staff like “Be calm. I love you.” They continue to share how many people today are deceived and don’t know that God loves them. We must speak past their captivity to communicate how much God loves them. 1 John 4:20 says “If anyone says, I love God,” yet hates his brother he is a liar.” Jesus loves you and died on the cross and rose three days later for your sins. He took back the keys of death, hell and the grave so that you can receive him and spend eternity with him.
