If you haven’t looked yet, you should probably keep an eye peeled outside of your house, around your neighborhood or place of employment, because there’s a good chance that Johnny Jefferson will have either ran past your house or will in the very near future. We said on the Preview podcast (or perhaps the Texas recap? I forget) that he would have to have a monster day to hit 1,000 yards rushing and, boy, did he ever. He hit the mark right on the nose, with 299 yards rushing in the game to become Baylor’s second 1000-yard rusher for the 2015 season.

So yeah, we’re talking Johnny Jeff. What else? I’m glad you asked!

• Happy New Year!
• College Football Playoff on New Years’ Eve (ugh)
• Possible solutions to the situation
• Playoff Results
• New Years Six Bowl Results
• Big 12 Bowl recap
• THE RUSSELL ATHLETIC BOWL!!!
  • Crow is eaten
  • But mostly, we’re marveling at:
  • Coaching staff
  • Stable of RBs and snap-takers
  • Johnny Jefferson
  • Offensive Line
  • More!

This was SUCH a fun game, and we’re glad to have gotten to take part in it.

How do you feel about a) those games being on New Years’ Eve instead of New Years Day or later and b) the CFP games not being the last bowl games of the season? What are your thoughts on fixing?

Merry Christmas, everyone! Our gift to you this Christmas Eve is a podcast! Because we love you and we’re here to entertain you while you travel, do your last minute shopping, or whatever. We podcast, you decide.

Mark returns to the podcast for a preview of the Russell Athletic Bowl, the Baylor Bears, the North Carolina Tar Heels, and everything involved therein. Before we get to the topics, though, I hope you notice that I put together a special introduction this week, paying homage to the most dynamic receiver in the country, Biletnikoff winner Corey Coleman. I had hoped to be able to do this after the bowl game and add in whatever scores he had against UNC, but sadly, that is not to be. So, I hope you enjoy it. Here’s what we’re talking about:

• The injury situation to Jarrett Stidham, Shock Linwood, Coleman, and possibly Patrick Colbert
• What this offense will look like without those players
• Self-scouting and “conventional wisdom”
• The Tar Heel defense, its strengths, weaknesses, and aggressive secondary
• How often do we see the WildBear?
• UNC’s offense and their weapons. Do they seem somewhat familiar to you?
• The weather
• Much more about the game
• Briefly: Texas’ OC hire, A&M’s QB transfers, Kylo Ren’s decision to Transfer from Texas A&M
• Overcast: a podcasting app for iOS

We hope you enjoy the podcast, and have a very Merry Christmas!

This is a podcast about basketball! Fankhauser and Mattisbear return to the show and we're talking all about the latest iteration of Scott Drew's work of art. Let's do this.

A loss is a loss. There’s no getting around that. But that doesn’t begin to sum up what happened on Saturday when the Bears played host to the Longhorns. Though the Longhorns were ultimately victorious, that second half was some of the most fun I’ve had watching football in quite a long time. Mark and I are back on the podcast to talk about that, the Playoff a bit, and more. Here’s what we’re talking about:

• A measure of perspective on this season (we’ll do a full recap at some point)
• Baylor lands in the Russell Athletic Bowl
• The RAB Twitter account makes us excited about the bowl
• The Texas Game
• The halftime adjustments, and credit where it is due
• Peter’s random halftime lunch experience
• The defensive performance
• We’d like more, please
• The Big 12 OOC scheduling requirement
• The Playoffs and New Years Six bowls (as well as the Alamo Bowl)
• Rico Gathers (no, really)
