We dive into the world of an international student at TU Eindhoven
What ever happened after Inmotion showed just a mock-up at DDW? Well, they revealed ""the real thing"" in August 2021: a prototype of their all electrical racing car. Developing technology for very fast electric charging is their dream, besides winning a Le Mans 24 hours race. We interview one of the students on the team. What does it take to be an international student here? Our guest is TU Eindhoven Bachelor student Arda Karuca.
Meanwhile, program host Jean-Paul Linnartz found this photo on archive, while preparing for a previous interview at Dutch Design Week.
Even a crowded city like Eindhoven is full of wild life. Nuno Curado has been working with wildlife and people, in different organizations and in hos own businesses. He became increasingly captivated by the wildlife that lives in our cities. How do wild animals and plants live in urban areas? How do we, humans, benefit from it? How can we make our cities better for people and nature?
Radio 4 Brainport broadcast a highlight on the relationship and long history between the Dutch and the Indonesians! The INYS (Indonesia Nederland Youth Society) strives to connect the two (young) groups, whether it be professionals or students, not only in Eindhoven but in all of the Netherlands.
What is so special about the relationship between the two countries? What does a strong relationship bring for both countries and its youth? What does INYS do to help achieve the mission? Maybe organizations like INYS also can inspire other internationals to create a similar initiative?
INYS representative:
Ever wondered what you have to go through to buy a car in The Netherlands? What are the pros and cons of different car ownership models? How do you arrange a driver's license?
Moreover, what happens when you get sick in this country? Where do you have to go to and what are the steps before you get treated? What's covered in the insurance and what's not? How good is the Dutch healthcare system?
Parag Gupta will be sharing his experience with us and he's certainly not a stranger to Radio 4 Brainport. He's an American expat who's been enjoying life in The Netherlands so far. He did a piece on celebrating Christmas in NL last December.
The discussion about moving to a new country, expat life, new role, and responsibilities, has been a regular highlight on our Tea-Talk show. However, this Friday we will talk about an enthusiastic and charming couple Asha Dhawan and Pawan Dhawan, who lived in three different continents for 44 years and are now settled back in India, to their native country. Asha Dhawan is the founder and President of the Indo Dutch Association, and promoting Indian culture has been her driving force behind the formation of this organization. She pursued a 30-year long career in the logistics and mobility industry in Canada and The Netherlands. Pawan Dhawan, an electrical engineer by background, worked for 27 years in Philips and retired as Senior Director of Procurement at Philips Nederland. He was the founding director of the "Kala Bharti" foundation and is passionate about social work, especially education for all.
How do they feel after going back to their own country? Was it an easy decision?
We meet Geert Vermeer, chairman of the DAF Museum. An intriguing history of making automobiles, starting 1928 already. And a special highlight in 2021 was the DAF Kini, specially designed for the Dutch Royal family, and driven by the Dutch King on his tour to Eindhoven. What is the success behind a company that is now a world leading truck maker?
In 2020, even the animal rescue shelters did not have any cats or dogs anymore that were still searching for a new owner. Do you have a cat or a dog? Maybe you always already enjoyed having a pet to entertain the house, not just now. Are you looking for someone to take care of it during vacation time? Join our conversation on Tuesday. Meow-Talk on DAB+, and 747 and 828 AM, Part 2

Let's enjoy the discussion, co-hosted by Stephen Harianto and Joanne Lo, with our guests Apoorva Aravind, Prathyusha Adiraju, and Thomas John.
