Today's show operates like the original idea for the Concurrent, which was to be a digital op-ed page responding to Sunday's editorial section. This doesn't mean disagreement, but it does mean change of context.
Topic one revisits the myth of the binary argument made from the Chronicle: that the only two states of being on the issue are for or against a shelter. The commission displayed their ability to cut projects costs last Tuesday with dog parks, which begs the question why is this not happening with the shelter?
Topic two talks about why Prosperity Citrus is a worthy cause led by smart people, but that a growing imbalance between spending projects and the discouragement of business is inevitably going to raise fees on residents - a troubling trend we are already seeing.
