Last week, I made some vicious comments on an otherwise innocuous story by Mike Wright about the Republican Party elections. Today's first topic details why I was so quick to respond so harshly, because the fall out of the elections is almost as important as the results.

The Chronicle opinion section continues a strong of bad takes from the editorials, this time over the public portion proposal, and highlights the importance of more voices to keep things in context. 

Today's episode changes the perspective on the role of government to explain why the commission must act to help Inverness Villages 4. 

Also, the Chronicle editorial deserves a closer look as it sides with an independent regional agency rather than the county. 

A saying about what kind of watch someone chooses can help put into context why someone would also want to run for office. With candidates about to line up for 2024 including one announcement tonight, this tool becomes increasingly important. 

The Chronicle commentary reaction isn't to any of the writers specifically, but rather to Sunday's section as a whole. Some of the readers might be missing a major fact that the Chronicle has been signaling. 

Election day is here! Republicans locally and statewide should win easily, but the Party is at a turning point. Recognizing the importance of professionalism whether it is in politics or sports explains how to succeed long term. 

The second topic takes the Chronicle to task for a sloppy Sunday editorial that is too important of an issue to take this lightly.

No other local media outlet seems to want to talk about the Baker Act facility, so the Concurrent has stayed on it. The most recent Form 990, filed in 2020 for the 2019 year, reveals some potential red flags about LifeStream's executive structure. The commission, which is already expressing reservations about essentially tying themselves to this provider for 15 years with entering into an agreement for the facility, needs to be aware of as much information as possible and right now there just isn't a lot of it regarding LifeStream. 

The second topic reacts to a different part of the Sunday Chronicle, first in a way that comes across as chastising the lack of election reporting but wrapping up the show in an agreement with one of the Chronicle's most critical near-term future positions.
