The race for district 4 is heating up with many former county commissioners that might join including one that did yesterday. What does this mean for the state of the current board and why does the Chronicle appear to be speaking directly to one former county commissioner in editorials arguing that she shouldn't run to return for the board? 

The commission has once again raised the possibility of a sales tax increase in order to fund the roads. Logically, a compromise plan with the sales tax is a reasonable pitch worth considering. Emotionally though, the commission will never be able to properly sell the public on it until their own actions match the responsible handling of funds that will convince the public the increase will be well managed. 

It's okay for people to make a bad choice. We can learn from professional sports gamblers that wrong choices are part of doing business. What we can't do is falsely accept that someone is capable of making the right choice 100% of the time, yet some people are willing to believe this delusion as demonstrated in a great academic study. 

Our support for the Governor is not diluted by calling his decision to endorse in local Citrus state delegation elections a bad choice. We need to realize that and start calling it what it is: an error in judgement.
