I stepped on a bee in the park once and it stung the foot of my sole.

But my mother was so afraid of bees, and they stung her every time she got close to them... Then, for days on end, she could be the center of attention...

This article uses the bee-sting as an analogy... to show how an early incident effects your life... forever. 

The bee sting and the stinger

Do you know when a bee stings you, it leaves its stinger in you? And unless you can dig it out, it is the source of infection, swelling, and much much pain.

What you didn't know, probably, is that the stinger is a modified ovipositor, which the bees' ancestors used to deposit their eggs into the bodies of insect hosts. The evolution of venom made prey items much more manageable! Since the ovipositor is a female reproductive organ, only female bees have stingers.

Anyway, this phenomenon is a lot like your first incident around age three. Something happens that you didn't expect, and it hurts. Like a bee sting.

But the incident, just like a bee, leaves its stinger in you, and it festers. And it hurts. And you don't even try to pull the stinger out, you are just trying to protect the area... It feels like everyone and everything is trying to get to that swollen painful place...

Your whole life, everything is can be explained by that sting... and the broken in stinger.

And we all have it. In that we are equal. The only difference between us is what we said the incident said about us...

My stinger said that I was stupid and worth nothing. Not worth keeping, not worth taking care of.

In The Work we go back and look what the stinger said... Once I know yours, I know nearly everything that I need to know about you so that I can help you...

That incident and your decision sets up the course of your life. It sets up what you are trying to avoid and what you'll pursue or pretend to pursue.

Mostly pretend to pursue.

What you pretend to pursue is supposedly will render that bee-sting not be valid... What you try to avoid is to be seen, to be known as what the bee-sting meant to you.

Not important

Someone who doesn't matter

Not measuring up

Not special

Never deserving

And the shades are infinite. One of them, another not, is not safe... or maybe always feel threatened with annihilation.

The exact words don't matter really. The mood, and the ultimate consequence is the real issue.

It sets the machine. It sets the attitude, the emotional response to nearly everything.

You can have a pretense machine...

You pretend to prove that the original would wasn't true or even justifiable.

Example:

Your father told you that you didn't run fast enough in a race. So to justify that you can't, you act in life eager, pretending that you are really really trying, but never actually give anything all you've got.

Instead of admitting that 'hell yeah! I run as fast as it took to win that freakin' race, not faster. And besides, who cares!'

If you could, EVER, admit to that, your machine would be defanged. Not go away, but it would stop controlling your behavior 24/7.

Being eager, never give yourself time, ever, to just be. Never allowing yourself to go slow and go deep... Instead being always on the hurry, eager beaver, but not getting anywhere. To prove your father both right and wrong.

Mind-boggling, but this is the nature of this machine.

Others' machine works exactly the same way: you try to both prove and disprove what was supposedly said about you in the original incident.

I wasn't an exception either. I don't think anyone is.

A few minutes ago I became aware that I have nothing to do. That I am pondering whether I should watch Netflix or continue playing Freecell.

Woah... WTF? So I looked. And what I saw surprised me. I saw that suddenly I don't have a direction.

And then I realized that I watched that ground shaking video of Tai yesterday, and didn't do the assignment... set a new context, a direction, a horizon, according to what he explains in the video, for myself.

But, you ask, why wouldn't I do it?

I guess the selfish genes in me aren't interested... lol. The genes are selfish not for my happiness, accomplishment, etc. but for themselves.

And any commitment, any setting of a direction, is inherently risky... so they don't like it...

So I am now in landmine and tripwire land. Avoid tipping off the Selfish Genes

My job is to tread so lightly, that the landmines don't explode, and tripwire doesn't sound an alarm.

So how should I go about it? Playfully? Through teaching it? Through speaking that 'no big deal' and 'I've been heading that way forever...'?

Excitement, bragging, 'sharing' with anyone who is willing to listen... that's a tripwire tripped.

The more emotion is in the action, the more it's a tripwire.

So, let me try:

First question:

what does your world look like that you'd like to reimagine around health? Reimagine... that's Tai's creative word, but imagining, or re-imagining is too emotional, and too risky, if your goal is to tread lightly, so the genes don't discover that you are up to something.

So what I am going to do is look back at what was making me cry in the past week, and I see that traveling to see my high school class at one of our reunions would be something I'd really like to do. It will be our 50th this year.

Second question:

in your ideal world, where is your income going to come from? How are you going to reverse engineer?

In my idea world I always work with small groups, but my income comes hands free... recorded classes, books...

This book thing has been coming up lately... you'll see in the third question...

Third question:

Socially, what does it look like?

I was on television twice in my life. First time when I was 15... I was on the Hungarian talent show, forgot its name. I became famous overnight, and I liked it.

Second time was less watched, but I got to see myself, and I realized that I sound good, and intelligent. I didn't know that about myself.

I'd like to be on television for a third time, being interviewed... maybe about my book? (No book yet, lol)

Fourth question:

How are you going to be happy?

I have no ambitions to be happier than I am. I am plenty happy.

Happy sets of the tripwires... so no thank you. I am happy. The past 10 days or so, I've been getting out of bed in an even or better mood... so maybe even joyful... hm. Tone it down, missy.

Now, if you saw what I did, I intentionally didn't go into highs and lows and significance. I kept it as light as I could, and when there was a danger of an emotional peek... I toned it down.

This is exactly the opposite of what other teachers teach. Why? I guess they don't know their ass from a hole in the ground. And more than that: they don't look at the kinds of results their students get: results and then back to nothing.... another way to say: flash in the pan.

Much like dieting: you lose all that weight and then you pack it back on and a little extra.

Even, even keeled, stoic is the name of the game. (The opposite is Epicurian... and it's deadly.)

And all this, I learned from the 67 steps... I am not ashamed to say.

I woke up unhappy. I woke up from a dream where I was framed and was struggling for my life.

Even though waking up freed me from the struggle, the unhappy state hung out for a few minutes after awakening.

I went to bed last night, and didn't fall asleep for two and a half hours. I wasn't unhappy then... Instead I was musing. About worlds. About humanity. And about history and alternate history. I was fascinated and enjoyed it.

I got up and got to my computer. Darn Google is still limping some of the time. Most of the time it is dead... I wonder what is going on there...

Then Reddit.

Going to Reddit.com always gives me food for an article... and so it is this time.

Reddit is organized by topics... I have subscribed to some of them. One of them is Damnthatsinteresting or to make it intelligible Damn! that's interesting!

Wouldn't you want to wake up to a thread like that? I do.

This morning's 'hit' post is a real doozy:

What do you see?

Look at this picture. What do you see? A can of coke, diet coke to be exact. So what? I have to read several of the comments, and I still don't see what is interesting. Until someone says: The can doesn't have a way to open it. No pull tags.

It is a can't of Diet coke... lol

So what? you could ask, and probably do. I wish you asked 'so what?' more often, by the way. You would be a happier person.

So what? First off, I didn't see that there was anything to see. I examine the writing on the side, and see nothing to see.

And that is my point. You don't see what is there because what you see is what you are expecting, unless...

Unless you know that you are expecting it, it should be there, and it isn't.

Like the dude who wanted to have a drink and got this can't of Diet coke.

A number of years ago I filled a course by using this phenomenon... that you only see what you expect, or you can only see what you direct your attention at. That was my largest ever course: people became sure that there were things they didn't see...

And that is 'damn!' interesting. That you don't see what you don't expect to be there.

But if you look at expectation... you don't see that you are expecting either.

And judging from your internal state, judging from your level of unhappiness, you are, most of the time, disappointed, frustrated, angry, resigned, maybe even depressed...

And these are all the CONSEQUENCE of expectation.

Depression is unfocused anger, turned inward. You overcome it by aiming your empathy, concern, and assistance outward, toward someone else. Anyone else.- Roy H. Williams

Everyone has very smart things to say, but no one goes deep enough.

Unless you change the roots, the tree doesn't change. If your anger is really disappointment, you need to learn to expect to see what you'll see... not what should be...

Believe it or not, seeing is a skill... like suckling is a skill a new baby needs to learn. Suckle in a way that it is not too fast, so the milk doesn't go down the wrong pipe...

Consider that the same skill: 'not too fast' is also an element of the skill's name is 'seeing'. Calm, sober, not hasty, not eager, not any emotion. Just look and see...

Do you have that skill?

Only when you see that way does reality open up to you. And only when you have the skill to want reality to be the way reality is, WANT! NOT JUST ALLOW! reality to be the way reality is, that you can be effective with reality.

The unhappiest of us keep on doing the same thing expecting a different result.

To the degree, and the largest area of life you do that, the unhappier you are.

There is probably no human alive on the planet who doesn't, at least to some degree,

And whatever that glorious future you dream about, no matter which side of the great divide you are on, that glorious future is a stillborn. That is, unless you have the guts to go for it, and go for it with gusto.

And, because it is a principle... as every true principle, it is true everywhere.

Timid souls, careful souls, cautious souls' good ideas die on the vine.

What really puzzles me, though, why is it that people who are on the side of genocide, racism, suppression, violence, world dominance...

Why aren't those people who are on the wrong side of the law, why aren't they timid?

Because they aren't.

People who hate me have the guts to write to me and tell me. Tell me what a piece of excrement I am... egotist, judgmental, whatever they call me. They yell. Not timid at all.

On the other hand, my students whose life is slowly brightening, who finally find their path, who have reason to celebrate... they are quiet, with finger on their lips... modest, and silent.

I find the same thing in politics too.

What is politics? Unfortunately it is politics where most things about your life are decided... Decided by thieves, loudmouths, robbers, killers, cheaters, perverts... people you've elected. Both sides. Even if your current president is timid...

So life is getting worse. The dance floor is getting smaller. And the noise is getting louder from the wrong side of the divide... They yell AND ACT, so most of the rights people have fought for, are taken back. 

I find that only humorists have the guts today to say what there is to say. My favorite is Andy Borowitz... his Borowitz Report. Hilarious and outspoken.

About everything.

I want to be like Andy Borowitz when I grow up.

But honestly, personal responsibility, personal power is on the decline, and...

...those who have a crowd to scream with scream. Those who have no crowd... whimper.

Back some 20 years ago I was writing a magazine review on topless dancing. It was early afternoon and I was the only customer in the joint. The dancer was a blonde buxom woman. She was dancing for me. She spit on her breast and the saliva was sliding down on her skin... and I got turned on. Yeah... I still get a stomach ache when I think back.

So then I spent a few hours contemplating if I was suddenly gay.

I considered that I had to choose. And I looked what life would be like if I started to be attracted to women... and it looked like a disaster. Being different was already unpleasant. Even having friends was already a non-issue: I had none. But being THAT different: no, thank you, no. I didn't want that.

Later I found out I could be turned on by anything sexual... for example two men kissing... huh... interesting.

So I am heterosexual...

I have counseled many (tens) of people who struggled with and against their attraction to the same sex and had to deal with their parents, their community rejecting them.

I hear that belonging is the strongest desire unfulfilled when it's missing. I am lucky I don't have that. Really, I don't desire to belong. But most people do.

Anyway, what does this have to do with the principle: no guts, no glory?

A humanity that divides itself, as it is doing it now, to wussies and thugs is not doing well.

People whose voice I'd like to hear, have no opinion. Cowardice infects the brain and makes you dull. Incurious.

So does resistance... When you resist you cannot also have guts at the same time. Why? Because if we turned those energies to vectors, resistance and going for it are two vectors that extinguish each other.

If you are more afraid of death than of a meaningless, empty, dishonorable life then I am happy for you.

You are offended. Most everything offends you.

Things don't go the way they should: they take too long, they are hard, they don't pan out.

People do things they are not supposed to. And even you do things that you consider wrong, and that offends you. You don't know how to do it... arrrgh.

You think that there is something wrong with the world. Feeling offended feels really bad. So you come to me to change it. To fix it. So you can have the world work as well as those rich folk you want to emulate.

The work I do is 90% spiritual. And about 10% of the time I do some little marketing, business, whatever I need to do to earn enough money to survive.

With that said... I am not a good role model for financial success, for wealth, for riches.

By choice. I like to live on the edge... it gives ME an edge. I like having an edge.

But... when I want to buy a marketing course, when I want to get some advice, I meet contempt from coaches and teachers.

It happened just this morning: I bought something on a payment plan. As soon as I paid my first payment, he offered me to save $200 if I pay in full. And the teacher of the course said: 'because I like to work with action takers'...

I was offended. Considered canceling my payment. I fumed.

I am an action taker! But I can't afford to pay it all... blah blah blah.

I know it's silly, and yet it hurts. It tells me that I am less than enough.

I wonder if I do this with people who want to work with me, learn from me.

If I have ever done that: I apologize. I didn't mean to disempower you.

If I did that, it's because I looked from only my point of view, not yours.

My all time best student has little money, and even that is not her own. In the years she studied with me she didn't spend as much money with me as some people send me as a gift. Yeah, I get gifts.

So it's not the money for me. But it is for marketers: it is all about the money for them. No matter what nice things they say: it is all about the money.

That doesn't make them bad people.

Most of you have never heard about intrinsic values before you heard about them from me.

Most marketers don't know intrinsic values from Adam. Neither does Tai Lopez... and yet you can learn a ton from them.

When we want to be worth a damn, we need to consider extrinsic, worldly values important. In a worldly way what makes you be worth a damn is extrinsic value. Useful, fun, enjoyable.

All three levels of value are important for a good life, but you may be stuck, in a self-righteous way, in one level.

Like those teachers.

The enormous intrinsic value I bring to the world, when you are looking from the marketing, the extrinsic level, isn't worth crap.

Your vantage point decides your attitude...

Vantage point is simply where are you standing when you are looking.

The where, your vantage point, decides what you see.

The where is defined by height, i.e. vibration, i.e. consciousness level, and content, i.e. worldview.

Worldview

Worldview is a lot of words. It is like a tapestry of words that is both behind and in front of what you are looking at. In the front it acts as a filter, not allowing a lot of things to become visible to you. Behind it acts as a backdrop: giving a context to what you see.

Context

Context gives meaning to what you see... If you change the context, what you see suddenly means something different.

There is a saying:

It's your attitude, not your aptitude that will determine your altitude. Zig Ziglar said that.

The problem with that saying is that no one really knows what gives you your attitude,

Yesterday I found out more than I wanted to... all bad news.

It's all about what people can achieve working with me, working with my products.

The good news would be that they get exactly where they want to get... Which is what I teach: Feeling and being.

feel/be free to be yourself,

feel that you and your life is in harmony with all of it, with Life, with the Spirit, that you and your life are OK

have a sense that you are growing... a sense that you are alive, that life is beautiful, and it is worth to be alive

feel that even though you are not exactly where you would like to be, but life is a process, and you are in motion towards what you want

Wherever you are in the process, you are successful.

Of course, human nature has two moves in regards to success: celebration and failure. Also called winner and loser.

So the idea that success is a process and you are where you are, and that is a success... that idea is alien to today's humans. They only notice, they only announce, they only celebrate the final step, as if there were nothing in between.

This, Tai says, is because of the media bias.

Media Bias

Everyone is biased — and that's okay. There's no such thing as unbiased news. But hidden media bias misleads, manipulates and divides us

The media is not interested in a process... it is not sensational, it doesn't sell clicks, it doesn't sell newspapers... so they skip it. They only talk about the biiiig bold audacious successes... which were the result of process, hard work, lots of self-correction, sleepless nights, and a lot of people helping.

But to the media only the end matters, and that is why we call it media bias.

When I look at my students, every.single.one.of.them have fallen VICTIM to the media bias. No matter what color their skin is. No matter what country they live in or are from.

So what happens when you are the 'adherent' of media bias?

You detest, hold in contempt, and disregard process.

Looking from my own vantage point, if that is your relationship to process, then you'll NEVER get to the Promised Land... The Promised Land being wherever you wanted to get to.

Why? Because albeit getting there is simple, it is hard, and maybe so hard, you can call it arduous.

The opposite of the media bias.

I found, also, a component I didn't expect.

You have to have contempt for me, because I teach that it's a process. You are sure that I am simply wrong.

But what happens when you have contempt for something and also contempt for the person who you spend the most time with?

You may grit your teeth, and bear with it... but you surely won't share about your journey.

When you participate in a program, especially if it is intense like my programs, the people around you are curious, or maybe jealous of the time you spend with the programs, the time you spend with me.

The people in your life ask questions.

And if you have that contempt, if you detest process, you'll have nothing to say to them, nothing to get them on your side.

And they will not want you to continue, if you can't even say why you are doing it.

They will suspect that it's a cult. They will suspect that I am talking against them, that I suggest that you divorce them, leave them, etc.

So yesterday I started to have this conversation... better late than never.

I saw that unless you

1. get clear in your mind why you are coming, day after day... meaning what you really want to accomplish through your participation, then you'll never get it.

2. unless what you want to accomplish is in line with what I teach, inside the domain of being,

Your birth is accidental. You are born into a family, into a culture and unless the culture is very conducive to a happy life, you may want to emulate a different culture. (Emulate: match by imitation.)

It is one thing to emulate a person... but unfortunately it is all guessing. You'll see what someone does, even hear what they say through a filter. And because of your filter you'll pick and choose what to emulate. You probably will emulate what you agree with, what YOUR culture agrees with. And consequently your results will not be what you were aiming for when you picked who you wanted to emulate.

On the other hand, emulating a culture is easier. It is clearer what the culture's worldview is. You want to emulate the worldview.

Why? Because all actions, all attitudes, all emotions come from what you see... aka worldview.

Example: in some cultures talking loudly is called yelling. Yelling is threatening... So people from those cultures cower when I talk louder than normal speaking voice. I wonder what they would say when I really yell... lol. Yelling really loud? To me this is really funny. 

Yet in other cultures unless you talk really loudly you are considered timid and you are never heard. The louder you talk the more 'the man' you are.

Ultimately what you want is learning to live and operate under a different culture, much like as if you changed countries...

On one hand you learn to become flexible and unchained. On the other hand if you choose a higher consciousness culture to emulate, you can become more successful, happier because your consciousness will now is less chained to the low consciousness of your culture...

The human brain is evolved to support learning. The learning of everything. Human babies are born even without the instinct to suckle...

Pigs and other mammals, as soon as they are able to walk, a few minutes after they are born, crowd the nipples. No one has to put them there. They know instinctively where it is and what to do with it.

Human babies don't know what to do. They have to learn it. They have to be put on the nipple, and have the milk put on their lips to create the association... nipple, nourishment, and only then they start suckling.

Unfortunately today's humans, for some reason, think that they should already know things, know to do things they never learned.

Like thinking. Like expressing things they are learning. To do anything well.

It's cultural.

If you look, parents expect their children to know things without teaching them.

Teaching children has become a lost art. And thus learning has become a lost art too. With it the consciousness that learning is needed and good... is lost.

The biggest barrier to learning is to think that you either already know it, or that you should already know it.

Knowing, by the way, does not equal information, knowing about a thing. Unless knowing leads to seeing differently and therefore acting differently your 'knowing' is only information.

And no information has ever changed anyone... only knowledge. Seeing differently.

To see differently, information, words, need to be able to influence how you look, and where you look.

If you only look in your mind: your actions will be disconnected from reality. The mind endeavors to be the map of reality... not reality.

Unless how you see reality changes, the information didn't become new knowledge... Yesterday's transformation is today's arrogance: you'll see and do what you have always seen and done, while spout jargon, truth-sounding b.s.

The moment you spout jargon, I know you didn't get it... You don't SEE it.

I will mention two different patterns I have seen recently to prove my point.

One is the predominant worldview of the eight billion: there is something wrong here...

It is undeniable that we have an indigestion epidemic.

Why? The causes are many...

Here are a few:

eating too much

you don't chew your food properly

you combine foods that don't digest well together

eating food that contains ingredients that your body cannot process

too fatty, too spicy, too foreign

your digestive organs are overloaded, misfire, or are in bad shape

you may have gastritis, an inflammation of the internal lining of your esophagus, stomach, or duodenum

blockage in your gall bladder...

too much coffee, soda, juice, or alcohol

smoking or chewing tobacco

and probably more.

So you see, the reasons, the causes are plenty why you would have indigestion.

Most people don't know they have indigestion. They feel hungry all the time... Why? Because indigestion masquerades as hunger.

So what happens when you feel hungry? You find something to eat.

So you add something to the already unhappy stomach. The stomach that is telling you you ate too much, or that it needs a rest.

Hunger or indigestion? Hunger or something else?

In my health practice I get a lot of requests to measure people's innate eating style.

Most people who come to me have the style to 'eat only when you have true hunger'...

This message makes them unhappy. Because they are either unable or unwilling to decide if the hunger they feel is really hunger or indigestion. All of these people are gaining weight... that is why they come to me.

Because most people cannot feel much of anything, or don't trust anything, they won't follow the instructions...

Because I myself overeat for the same reason as millions, I have been giving some attention to this topic.

I also have symptom of gastritis... and acid reflux.

So now I am really looking into this topic. Muscletest told me that my stomach will kill me, not my age or my heart... Good news? Bad news? Maybe good. Because I can't do anything about my age, or my heart. But maybe I can do something about my stomach.

People including myself cannot be trusted to tolerate the discomfort and not ease it with eating. Eating that surprisingly eases the discomfort of indigestion.

So instead of changing people's behavior (a near impossible task!) I want to find something that eases the indigestion as well as eating would.

I am now experimenting with one method... If it works, I'll let you know.

My end goal is to eat three times a day, like I did when I was reasonably thin and had energy to burn.

I have noticed that my stomach problem also makes me weak. And being weak doesn't feel good.

So my first experiment is attending to gastritis and see if it will make me feel less hungry, less often: see if I can, therefore, eat less.

The theory is that my symptoms are caused by some bacteria. Whether it is what 'they' say it is won't matter to me. I am taking goldenseal (root) tincture I made myself years ago. Tinctures last for decades...

PS: I am writing this 'next day'.

It is too early to report much of anything... and yet I am hopeful.

So what will I consider success?

If I have been overeating to soothe the inflamed stomach, then I'll find myself not overeating, being less hungry less of the time, and eventually I'll see the result on the scale.

If the acid reflux has been caused by bacteria, then I'll have less acid reflux... that is obvious, right?

And I have a third criteria for success: if I find myself being stronger, having more physical strength, maybe even be able to start walking again... This one is a big question, but the most exciting of them all. Just thinking that doing what I am doing MAY produce that now gives me a gi...

Most people get fat because of indigestion or poor digestion.

When you have indigestion, the discomfort mimics hunger, and you eat more.

Hunger is essentially a discomfort signal by the stomach...telling you to get some food. Other need signals are the need to drink water, the need to rest, the need to fornicate, the need to eliminate... Valid needs... So obviously, unless you are really clear it is not hunger, you'll just eat... right?

The stomach is the first organ where digestion begins. Proteins: meat, fish, eggs, cheeses need the stomach to have strong acid. Strong stomach acid to break the bigger protein molecules to their components, amino acids.

Strong acid is needed, 2-3 on the PH scale (7 is neutral). Most people's stomach acid, after age 30, is less acidic, and then the protein has to hang out in the stomach longer to be broken down.

Carbs, vegetables, on the other hand, need an alkaline environment to start being broken down to digestible elements.

After age 30, a sandwich that has protein and bread, meat and potatoes, stews are quite deadly, because the elements of the meal require an different PH environment to be broken down.

This is especially true if the meal exceeds the two fist rule.

Your stomach, internally, is three fists large. It needs to be able to move the stomach contents around and mix it with digestive juices to do its work.

This means that the largest meal your stomach can process well is not larger than two fists size, including the fluids you consume with it.

A normal diner meal is three-four times bigger than that.

Just enter a diner and count how many obese people sit there... and just please know, if you eat there regularly, you'll be like them. No kidding.

I find that I can eat three medium eggs: all protein... and not get indigestion. Three large eggs: too much already.

I find that I can eat a meat patty, 4 oz (100 grams) with two egg yolks, and I am OK. Add the egg whites: I'll start having symptoms of indigestion.

Americans, Hungarians, eat large meals... and suffer from indigestion and indigestion diseases: cancer, and heart diseases.

Why would cancer be related to indigestion and overeating?

If you overload the body's immune system and lymph (draining) system by adding the task of getting rid of the toxic undigested sludge the stomach dumps into the intestines, it has little energy left to police the body for the stray cancer cells that are born every minute of every day, in even the healthiest bodies.

And those stray cancer cells, once colonized, are expensive to get rid of... A healthy immune system that is available to do the work, can prevent the colonies to become bigger, but cannot eliminate them.

Every body has cancer, big or small, but not everybody gets full blown cancer.

The sooner you stop overloading your immune system with clean-up toxins jobs after meals. The sooner you start the sooner you'll prevent your cancerous cells from becoming life-threatening.

Yesterday I had a conversation with my next door neighbor who is battling stage 4 cancer, for the past six years.

By the time it was diagnosed, it was stage 4.

She told me that the doctors told her that obesity is the number one reason.

Why? I don't know, so I am going to say it, in different ways, until I find out what about the concept is conflicting with your worldview now, what about it that the ego or the mind or whatever it is that is blocking it, finds so intolerable that it won't allow you to wrap your brain around it.

My first hunch is: you are not willing to cause.

Why would that be? Isn't what you have always wanted, to have a life where you have some role in how it turns out?

To my surprise most people will pretend that that is what they want, but what they really want is being GIVEN a great life.

Why? I think that humans, at least humans I deal with, don't want to consider that they caused their own misfortune, mishaps, misery.

If you accepted that you caused your own misery without knowing how you did it, without knowing how to cause your happiness, that is not really a useful knowledge... in fact it makes you more miserable, because it adds guilt to the misfortune.

And even though humans CAN cause, they don't know how.

Why?

I think that unless as a child you were encouraged to do projects of your own then as an adult you won't have any sense of you causing anything. And most children never have, never create, never pursue projects of their own making.

The ones that do become billionaires.

So what happens if you are one of the eight billion who has never really learned to create, pursue, accomplish projects of your own? Can you start as an adult?

Yes. You can start. But you'll only succeed if you manage to see a project as a process... not something that should happen fast.

The more your worldview is the McDonald's type, where you don't do every part of the project, you really just consume, the less you'll develop the sense that you can cause.

So if you forget that the purpose of doing projects is to awaken your sense that you are a cause not an effect, you'll abandon the project, or do it shabbily.

Here is an example from yesterday...

In the Core Group I saw that your misery is 90% due to your lack of flexibility in what you call things, especially emotions, emotional states.

Unless you learn to express, recognize, appreciate different emotional states that are around your base discontent, around your base 'the wrong that was done to you', you'll be stuck in the right/wrong paradigm, where you cannot cause anything. Where you are a hapless victim or wrong... The paradigm where things happen to you. Where things are supposedly instantaneous, and there is no process. You don't cause anything, because that is not the nature of the paradigm.

The right/wrong paradigm where your job is to be thrown about by every wind, every whim, every circumstance, like a leaf.

The eight billion lives 100% of their lives in that paradigm.

So if you ever want more out of life, if you ever what to feel powerful and a match to life, you need to move and start inhabiting the next higher paradigm where you actually matter. Where what you do matters. What you think, what you say, how you are matters.

They don't matter on your current paradigm, even if you are judged for it. And of course you are: judged.

As you climb higher, the invisible ceiling holds you back.
