This episode features a presentation entitled “Cross Border Fund Flows 2023” which was given by Ralph Williams, Associate Director of Broadridge.

During this presentation, Ralph discusses 2023’s funds landscape, using the analogy of being stranded in a desert to outline the various options available.

The options he discusses are as follows:

Option 1: To stay put where you are, referring to where the funds industry is currently at in terms of net outflows vs inflows.

Option 2: Seek an oasis, such as in the form of an ETF or ESG.

Option 3: Befriend a local, meaning identifying sub advisory opportunities in Europe.

And Option 4: Making yourself visible, translating to the importance of your brand and partnerships.

This episode features a keynote address from Derville Rowland, Deputy Governor at the Central Bank of Ireland.

As Deputy Governor at the Central Bank, Derville is responsible for Consumer and Investor Protection, overseeing Retail Conduct, Securities and Markets Supervision as well as oversight of Anti-Money Laundering, Financial Sanctions and Enforcement.

In this keynote address, Derville provides an update on the key priorities for the Central Bank over the coming year in 2024. She focuses her discussion on the opportunities there are for enhancing the resilience of financial markets and further developing European capital markets.
