Jason Arriola, Vanessa Cahill, and John Lucero are jumping into the fourth generation of Pokémon by watching Pokémon: The Rise of Darkrai. It introduces a fair amount of new Pokémon and dumps May and Max in favor of Dawn. Dawn is not only less annoying than May and Max, but she also has Piplup as her main Pokémon, so, despite any flaws she has, we can totally forgive most of them for bringing the adorable little penguin Pokémon to the table. Oh yeah, Ash and Brock are still here.

Instead of covering the Secret of Mana soundtrack in its entirety, I decided to take a different approach and pick five tracks from the original Super Nintendo version, Secret of Mana Genesis / Seiken Densetsu 2 Arrange Album, and the 2018 remake. I was curious to see how those tracks were handled in each iteration, so I thought finding five I specifically liked and hearing how they were changed would be a fun little experiment.
