  • Interview with Steve Manders – Hawkeye Heaven Podcast #18
Des Moines, Iowa - The 18th installment of our Hawkeye Heaven podcast is right here folks. We spiced things up a bit with this one and invited former Hawkeye football player, and current professional wrestler, Steve Manders to be our guest. There's no doubt you'll enjoy our interview with Mr. Manders. He's a fun guy with a big dream, a great work ethic, and being a Hawkeye means a lot to him.

First, Trent and I discuss the big recruiting weekend from the Iowa football team. They just had three of their primary targets commit after their weekend visits. DL Jalen Hunt, OL Justin Britt, and DB Dane Belton all announced their commitment to play ball for the Hawks.

Then we welcome in Steve Manders for a fun 15 minute interview. Steve talks about his time as a Hawkeye, what it meant to him, and then discusses his journey as a professional wrestler. His goal is ultimately to become a WWE Superstar, but right now there's a good change you can catch Steve wrestling somewhere around the state of Iowa.

Finally, Trent and I wrap up the podcast by discussing a huge weekend visitor for the Iowa basketball program, 5 star PF recruit Keion Brooks from Fort Wayne, Indiana. It's not often the Hawkeyes lure a 5 star basketball talent to visit Iowa City so this could be an interesting recruiting story to keep an eye on.

Hope you enjoy episode #18 Hawk fans! Check out the highlight below to see Steve Manders in the ring, and his former teammate and current NFL tight end George Kittle ends the match with the Stone Cold Stunner!
