Podcasts – Hawkeye Heaven

Des Moines, Iowa – We have reached the 7th episode of the Hawkeye Heaven podcast! This time we we're thrilled to have former Hawkeye standout and current professional basketball player Aaron White joining us all the way from Lithuania.

Trent and I start out by discussing the latest news on the Iowa basketball team. We talk about who is going and who is staying and where that leaves the team as far as scholarships go. Then we welcome Mr. Aaron White on to the show.

Aaron is currently playing basketball in the Euroleague for Žalgiris Kaunas in Lithuania. He's having himself a pretty damn good season averaging just under 10 points and 5 rebounds per game. Aaron shares some stories with us about his time playing overseas and he spends a few minutes giving us his thoughts on the current Hawkeye basketball team.

Be sure to check out this sweet little Aaron White highlight video that the Euroleague just threw together a few days ago!

Finally, Trent and I finish off the podcast by diving into a little spring football chatter.

Hope you enjoy the 7th installment of our podcast. Please help us spread the word about the podcast so we can continue to bring in guests like Aaron for you all to hear from.

Go Hawks!

Des Moines, Iowa - The 6th edition of the Hawkeye Heaven podcast has arrived. This time we were excited to have former Hawkeye standout and veteran NFL player Colin Cole on as our guest.

First and foremost, Colin and his wife Kaye are doing everything they can to raise awareness and funding for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Kaye has actually been nominated to run for the LLS's Woman of the Year thanks to all of her philanthropic efforts. Kaye reached out to Hawkeye Heaven a few days ago and we're happy to help them promote such a meaningful cause.

To help Colin and Kaye raise money for the LLS you can buy one of the t-shirts you see them both wearing in the feature image above. Every penny raised from the shirts goes to the LLS's mission to cure not just blood cancer, but all cancers, and to improve the quality of life for cancer patients and their families. The Cole's have set a goal to raise $150,000. This amount would provide 60 eligible families with co-pay assistance for an entire year, allowing them to focus their energy on beating cancer without having to worry about the burden that medical expenses can bring.

Hawkeye fans, let's come to together to help them out. All you have to do to buy a shirt is CLICK RIGHT HERE to place your order. Thank you!

Lastly, Trent and I also talk with Colin about his time as a Hawkeye and in the NFL. We go back to the glory days of Hawkeye football during Colin's tenure in Iowa City, and he even talks about how cool it was to see you crazy Hawkeye fans try to carry the goal posts out of the Metrodome (or Kinnick North as we liked to call it).

Enjoy the podcast Hawk fans. Special thank you to Colin Cole for joining us! Please, if you have the money, buy one of the shirts above in order to donate to a great cause.

Des Moines, Iowa – DP and TC are back with episode #5 of the Hawkeye Heaven podcast! This week our special guest is former Iowa basketball player Duez Henderson.

Trent and I kick off the show by talking some football. We give our thoughts on Reese Morgan who happens to be the best damn assistant football coach in the world. Next we talk about a few different position battles happening right now in spring camp.

We welcome Duez onto the podcast about halfway through. We picked his brain on all things Iowa basketball, and asked him what type of player Fran should be looking for on the transfer market. Duez was a great defender in his day so we also gathered his thoughts on why the current Iowa team is struggling so much defensively, and what he thinks they can do to change that.

Hope you enjoy this week's podcast and keep spreading the word Hawk fans. We appreciate all of you for listening. We already have a special guest lined up for next week, and the week after that so stay tuned!

Special thank you to Duez Henderson for joining us this week!

Des Moines, Iowa - We are back with episode #4 of the Hawkeye Heaven podcast! We're incredibly excited about this episode because were joined by Mr. Mark Weisman himself. If you're a Hawkeye football fan you don't want to miss this one.

Trent and I start off by talking about the recently announced transfers from the basketball program, and we discuss some spring football news.

Let's not kid ourselves though, by far the best part of this podcast was our interview with Mark Weisman. We can't thank Mark enough for joining us, and we think Hawk fans are going to love listening to what he has to say.

Mark starts off by talking about his current job as an assistant strength and conditioning coach for the Hawkeye football team. He discusses what it's like working with a legend like Chris Doyle before going back and sharing a bit about his story. Lastly, Mark mentions a couple of current Hawkeye players who have been showing up big time in the offseason strength and conditioning program.

Here's a flashback of some of Mark's highlights as a Hawkeye. The 2nd play in the highlight reel is the one we talk about in the podcast. Man, it never gets old watching Mark mow down half of the "vaunted" Blackshirt defense.

Des Moines, Iowa - Trent Condon and Derek Pech are back, and incoming WR Calvin Lockett out of Largo, Florida joins us for the third episode of the Hawkeye Heaven Podcast!

Trent and I start off by talking a little bit more about the Tyler Cook situation. We recorded last week's podcast about a half hour prior to Cook making the announcement that he has no desire to transfer to Missouri so we wanted to circle back and share our feelings on his situation, and also the transfer possibilities surrounding the Iowa basketball team. We moved on to some NFL Combine talk, and then welcomed Calvin Lockett in for an interview.

We hope you've been enjoying these podcasts. It's been a lot of fun getting it started. We'll continue to bring in great guests for you Hawkeye fans to hear from. Please spread the word!

Then we were lucky enough to have 3 star OL recruit Jeff Jenkins from Prairie Ridge High School in Illinois joins us for an interview. Jeff talks about redshirting as a freshman, what position he is expecting to play for the Hawkeyes, and also what position he is expecting his teammate Samson Evans to play for the Hawkeyes.

Special thank you to Jeff for joining us! Hope all of you Hawk fans enjoy the podcast. Have a good weekend!
