In the second half of this fantastic interview, Cassandra and Kerryn talk about why it pisses them off when other females turn male soldiers for making them uncomfortable without talking to them about it first, and everyone participates in a lively discussion about whether or not it’s cool to show your buddies nudes that you’ve received (spoiler alert: it’s not).

We finally got a female soldier (besides Kerryn, of course) on the show! Cassandra Butts is a six year veteran of the Massachusetts National Guard, and she’s an absolutely hilarious human being.

In this episode, Kerryn and Cassie go into greater detail about what it's like to be a female in the military, and Cassie tells the famous "Butts Stuff" story. You don't want to miss this one!

Kyle Babb is an eleven year veteran of both the Active Duty and National Guard Army. His wife Megan has been by his side throughout his years of service. The two of them are pretty high up on Evan’s list of favorite people that he’s met in the Army. Megan tells us what it was like to be taking care of things at home while Kyle was deployed, Kyle tells us how people treated him when they found out he was getting out more than halfway through a full military career, and we all have a spirited conversation about dick numbing wipes. It's truly educational stuff.

Mike Oxford (or Ox, as he’s commonly known as) is a fourteen year Army veteran, whom Kerryn met during our undisclosed mission to an undisclosed area. He immediately impressed her with his knowledge and storytelling ability, so we were quick to get him on the podcast. Ox describes his method of training (troops and otherwise), Kerryn tells us what a joy it was to learn from him, and Evan explains why he hates the "Cousin From Boston" commercials.

Brian Ernst is a natural leader, and we take full advantage of that this week on the podcast. We get into some SERIOUS discussion regarding deployments, leadership, and PTSD. (Any new NCO should pay CLOSE attention to Brian's thoughts on the disciplining of lower enlisted soldiers!)

Alec Passacantilli is tall. But his height isn’t what you think about when you think about Pass (or as some podcast hosts call him, “Pasc”). You think about how he is just a purely terrific dude. Evan tells Pass just how much he loves him (even going so far as to wish other people were him), a hungover Kerryn recounts the night she met PTSDonohue, and Pass tells Kerryn that no matter what she says, he will NEVER shave his Hero Stache (at least not until sometime in 2022).

A two year veteran of the Massachusetts National Guard, Chris Hamel is one of the nicest guys you could ever hope to meet. Also, he and Evan go to the same barbershop. Kerryn tells the story of the night she met Chris (which was a WILD way to be introduced to someone), Evan describes his confusion at being happy at basic training, and Chris tells not one but TWO fantastic stories about getting away with shit in TRADOC.

Dewayne Manson is a fourteen year veteran of the National Guard, and is one of the coolest guys you could ever hope to meet. Dewayne and Evan discuss the stressors the military can put on your marriage, Dewayne talks about the difficulties he had readjusting to civilian life after spending so much time overseas, and Evan explains the hilarious reason why Kerryn is not in the episode!

Victor Ramirez is a three year veteran of the Massachusetts National Guard and but for unforeseen circumstances could have been a co-host on this podcast. Evan sheds light on where the rumors come from in his company, Kerryn tells us about her most common uncomfortable experience as a female soldier, and Victor makes a lasting contribution to the world by explaining how to use mayo correctly. Hint: you've been doing it wrong.

Evan and Kerryn welcome Zach Ennis, a veteran of both the Active Duty and National Guard sections of the Army. Zach tells us the WILD story of his decision making (or lack thereof) when it came to joining the Army, Evan explains why you need to talk about the things that happen to you in the military (you can’t just stuff it down with brown), and Kerryn coins what may turn out to be the most important term in this show’s history: Hero Stache.
