PODIMISTIC with Ali Woods

Ali Woods is contending with a stripper, the NHS and his own Dad on this episode of PODIMISTIC!

Ali takes us behind the scenes of life as a comedian - from battling through a feral Saturday-night crowd on a boat in London to remembering the comedy club that helped shape his career.

He also tells the ridiculous story of trying to get his dodgy knee and toe sorted through the NHS, involving missed paperwork, rejected MRI referrals, cancelled appointments and one spectacularly mistimed alarm.

Plus, Ali catches up with his dad Tony for more of his surprisingly profound advice on living a happier life, including why you should smile at people, be nice and never take yourself too seriously.

There’s also some good news about solar power nd a quote about finally getting around to doing the thing you’ve been putting off.

Welcome to the first episode of PODIMISTIC, the new podcast by Ali Woods where we explore modern life through the eyes of an optimist.

Ali's taking us behind the scenes of one of the most stressful nights of his life: recording his latest stand-up special in Manchester, where venue drama, a locked van, fire safety regulations and an audience desperate for the toilet threaten to derail the whole thing.

He also recounts a surprisingly wholesome night out, an awkward encounter with Jason Statham, and why regional nights out might just be better than London ones.

Plus, Ali is joined by his dad Tony for some genuine life advice and there's a reason to be optimistic about the ozone layer, Ali’s quote of the week... and a joke that absolutely does not go where you think it’s going.
