Mahakavi Ramdhari Singh known by his pen name Dinkar, was an Indian Hindi and Maithili language poet, essayist, freedom fighter, patriot and academic. He emerged as a poet of rebellion as a consequence of his nationalist poetry written in the days before Indian independence.

One of my favourite poems by my favourite poetess Erin Hanson. It's a pretty heavy poem. I found it difficult to recite it first couple of times. Her power of expression is very strong.

I wrote and recorded this poem while serving on a merchant ship in 2019.

It's a poem I wrote remembering my mother on her birthday. Every year, a new version of the same poem comes into being. Always on her birthday.
