Our first episode of 2021 features our FIRST GUEST, Robbie Imbrie! He sneaks into our Zoom meeting, and then, he sneaks into our hearts. In this episode, The Poetry Pals (plus one) discuss the Victorian Era and Potential Pirate Poet, Elizabeth Barrett Browning. The poems to be slammed are:
- "The Prisoner"
- "Perplexed Music"
- "A Thought For A Lonely Death-Bed"
The crew explores the importance of cereal, the sponsors E.B.B. may have used if she had a podcast in Victorian England, and of course Robbie Imbrie's life as a tiny little mouse.
It is discovered near the end of the episode that Mike's birthday is JUST ONE DAY before the release of this episode, so on behalf of Poetry SLAMMED and the universe, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MIKE!
PLUGS:
Find Robbie at his apartment in front of the Milwaukee Art Museum if you want to fight.
