I Love You… But I Never Learned How is a real conversation about the emotional lessons many Black boys learn growing up—and how those lessons can follow them into marriage, friendships, fatherhood, and work. This episode looks at strength, validation, defensiveness, vulnerability, and the difference between surviving life and actually knowing how to express what you feel.

It’s not about blaming our parents. It’s about understanding what we learned, what we carried with us, and what we may need to unlearn so we can become better men for the people we love.

WHO’S RAISING OUR CHILDREN?

This episode is coming from a real place.

After what happened at East End Day, I kept thinking about the young man who lost his life, the families affected, the people who were injured, and all the kids and adults who had to witness something they should never have had to see.

So we’re having the conversation.

Not just about the violence—but about what happens before it.

Where are the parents? Where are the mentors? What can schools do? What can coaches do? What can the community do? And what responsibility do our young people have for the choices they make?

I’m tired of everybody pointing fingers while our children are caught in the middle.

We’ll also talk about the trauma that violence leaves behind, because everybody who walks away physically okay doesn’t necessarily walk away mentally okay.

This episode isn’t about blaming one group.

It’s about asking all of us one question:

What’s my part?

Because if we keep saying it takes a village, then we have to be willing to become one before another family is planning a funeral.

Who checks on YOU when you’re always checking on everybody else? Who protects your name when you’re not in the room? And the hardest one... who are you keeping around simply because they’ve been around?
