  • Rising 360 | Having the power to make your own choices

In this episode, Gina and I discuss how you can have the power to make your own choices in the dance industry where the teacher is considered the wise one and you are the student. We brainstorm ways in which dancers can gain awareness of their freedom. We uncover the responsibility of having freedom and how we as dancers can be much more powerful once we take that responsibility. Gina and I then share tips to gain awareness of where we are.

    Thank you for listening,

  • Why community matters.

Susanne is joined by Rachel this week as they record live together and discuss R.I.S.E Media's New York City artists networking event this week. We wanted to open that space up for other performing artists who understand that you don't have to do it alone, even though you know, the industry portrays that picture still. It's in our power to truly change that.

    Thank you for listening,

    So much ♥,

She shares the need for authenticity, showing up as yourself, and building up the muscle of self-trust in being a young leader in the industry. Ali opens up about the mindset shifts she experienced in her early days. Ali believes that leaders are anyone who sees the potential in other people and are drawn to uplift them.

  • Coffee chat with Christy & Susanne | Everything you do has compound interest

In business and performing arts today, it feels like you got to fit in and leave your emotions at the door in order to get there. Christy and I challenge this notion. We look at the value of accepting and showing your emotions when you walk into the studio. This challenges the industry’s perspective which views emotions as a sign of weakness and inability to do the job. We bring our personal experiences in the industry and explain reasons why you should involve your emotions in what you do.

In the episode Susanne shares that over the past weeks a reoccurring theme that keeps coming in. Are we as performing artists better if we leave our 'day' outside the door? or can we reframe this statement and lean into the creativity of the art by using these emotions to fuel us in the art?
