  • Episode 19: Olivine City Gym, Route 42, Mahogany Town, Route 43, Lake of Rage

Mt. Mortar is not kind to Professor Oak or Derik and Paul Wall, as it turns out. Ceci and Astrid make it easily from Olivine City to Mahogany Town, while Derik and Paul Wall have some mishaps in between. Once everyone reconvenes in Mahogany Town, it becomes abundantly clear that Team Rocket is up to no good once again. Astrid gets tricked by the toll gate to the Lake of Rage, while Derik rails against Butt Munch and Minor Arcana once again. Paul Wall and Astrid both encounter a shiny red Gyarados AND Dragontamer Lance. Our trainers battle for their sixth badge against Jasmine at the Olivine City Gym, and Field Correspondent Gabby scores a follow-up interview with the magnificent Lance.

  • Episode 18: Olivine City, Olivine City Lighthouse, Routes 40-41, Cianwood Island, Cianwood Gym

What a whirlwind this episode is! Astrid and Paul Wall start out in Olivine City, only to be immediately sidetracked from their Pokemon Gym League Challenge via a series of errands and comical mishaps. Ceci breaks down the illogical structure of the Olivine City Lighthouse and its clear safety violations. Paul Wall nearly gets swept away by a whirlpool en route to Cianwood Island to pick up prescription medication for Ampharos's asthma. Derik doesn't know that Shuckle is a bug-type Pokemon. Astrid sneaks off to see the Pokemon Seer. Our trainers battle Chuck for their fifth gym badge at the Cianwood Gym, and Field Correspondent Gabby interviews the very legitimate owner of the very legitimate Cianwood City "Pharmacy."

  • Episode 17: Ecruteak City, Burned Tower, Ecruteak City Gym, MooMoo Farms

Apparently Professor Oak would prefer to work on his rhythm than his radio show, so Derik and Ceci keep up with Astrid and Paul Wall in Ecruteak City and beyond. We run into Bill, who has evolved his scientific research interests since we last saw him in Kanto. Ceci appreciates the genuineness of Midwestern nice, while Derik is suspicious. Mysticalman Eusine gives Derik a run for his money when it comes to long-winded rants. Astrid goes on a series of wide-ranging solo adventures waiting for Paul Wall to catch up, and Paul just tries to keep his head above all the chaos. Our trainers battle Morty at the Ecruteak City Gym for their fourth gym badge, and Gabby interviews a conspiracy theorist in the city's Pokemon Center.

  • Episode 16: Goldenrod City, Goldenrod City Gym, Route 35, National Park, Route 36 & 37

Professor Oak is indisposed at the National Park, so Derik and Ceci lead our trainers through our hometown of Goldenrod City. Derik is snarky about all the "touristy" sites, Astrid (unsurprisingly) bonds with the Pokemon Friendship Rater, Ceci tries to impress the trainers with a tour of the Goldenrod Radio Tower and is foiled by a mysterious external security force, and Paul Wall is really only interested in the Bug-Catching Contest beyond the city. Our trainers battle the fearsome Whitney and her Miltank at the Goldenrod City Gym for their third gym badge, and Field Correspondent Gabby catches up with a National Park Ranger to learn more about what's really going on with the Scyther.

  • Episode 15: Azalea Town, Slowpoke Well, Azalea Town Gym, Ilex Forest, Route 34

With Professor Oak busy studying Kurt's...ball...smithing, Derik and Ceci follow Paul Wall and Astrid down Slowpoke Well and through the Ilex Forest in an episode that promises to be somehow even more chaotic than most. Both of our trainers leave Kurt to fend for himself after hurting his back in Slowpoke Well, taking their sweet time to catch some new Pokemon and train them up to fighting levels while Derik and Ceci debate the proper pronunciation of the word "controversy." Beyond Ilex Forest, Astrid and Paul Wall have an unnecessary encounter with a police officer and are gifted yet ANOTHER Pokemon Egg by the Daycare Couple. Our trainers battle Bugsy at the Azalea Town Gym for their second gym badge as Derik and Ceci wax poetic about their admiration of this iconic gym leader. Field Correspondent Gabby sits down with Kurt to hear all about his love of, well, balls, and learn a little more about his history with Team Rocket.

  • Episode 14: Route 31, Violet City, Sprout Tower, Violet City Gym, Route 32, Union Cave

Derik and Ceci set out with Paul Wall and Astrid to officially begin their journeys as Pokemon Gym Challengers. Paul Wall gets right to business filling out his bug-type Pokemon team, forcing Derik to confront his unhealthy sleep habits. Astrid runs into technical issues with overleveling her starter Pokemon. Ceci still isn't a fan of spooky stuff. Our trainers battle for their first gym badge against Falkner at the Violet City Gym, and Field Correspondent Gabby goes on record with Sage Li, the elder of Sprout Tower.
