This week, #TheBassSisters highlight Men of Valor. A Tennessee-based Christian ministry that works with men in prison. Men of Valor is committed to winning men in prison to Jesus Christ and discipling them. Their purpose is to equip them to re-enter society as men of integrity – becoming givers to the community rather than takers.
According to Men of Valor, nationally, 70% of men released from prison will return to prison.
Raul and Genevieve share how through Bible-based programming, aftercare/re-entry services, and the involvement of committed staff and volunteers, Men of Valor’s success rate beats both national and statewide statistics. In fact, for men who complete Men of Valor’s 6-month program inside the prison and 12-month program outside the prison, the recidivism rate is below 15%.
If 98% of prisoners will someday be released, we must do more than talk about restoration and second changes. Learn more at MOVMinistry.org.

Dr. Martin Luther King Junior once warned that the church was in danger of losing its prophetic zeal. It would become nothing more than an irrelevant social club.
This week #TheBassSisters talk with Bishop Garland Hunt about why it is important for Christians to be bold and counter-cultural in the face of an aggressive “progressive” agenda that started with redefining marriage and has turned to redefine the definition of the word “woman.”
Bishop Hunt issued a mighty challenge for pastors to stop being MORE influencers and politicians think than what God thinks.

The Bass Sisters enjoyed a lively discussion with Dr. Omékongo Dibinga. Dr. Dibinga talks about his soon-to-be-released book Lies About Black People; How to Combat Racist Stereotypes and Why it Matters.
Questions they tackle during the conversation:
1. What are stereotypes?
2. What responsibility do black content creators have in producing positive images of black people?
3. What responsibility do black actors have to reject roles that perpetuate false black stereotypes?
The conversation also moved to ideological diversity and stereotypes placed on black conservatives.
Civil discourse flowed as The Bass Sisters and the good doctor parted ways on their views about Florida Governor DeSantis’ decision not to allow an AP African American Studies Course.
- Is Queer studies fair game for an African American studies course?
- Is CRT being taught in Virginia schools and schools across America?
- Are gay teachers in Florida allowed to put their family pics on their desks?
- What power should parents have over what their kiddos are taught?

This week #TheBassSisters talk with Paul Fitzpatrick, President of 1792 Exchange, about the impact and danger of corporate bias. 1792 Exchange's mission is to protect Americans in the marketplace from corporations that push "woke" agendas and silence the free expression of small businesses and employees who do not pass their ideological litmus test.
We have seen the headlines of Americans losing their livelihoods and being stripped from marketplace platforms, from banking institutions to social media platforms, after exercising their first amendment right of freedom of speech.
1792 Exchange recently reviewed and rated over 1,000 companies on their policies and practices to determine how likely the company will cancel a contract, boycott, divest or deny services based on views or beliefs.
By visiting the 1792 Exchange website linked here, a small business can search to see how their vendors rate. Companies are rated Low, Medium and High risk.
This week, #TheBassSisters talk with Patrice Onwuka, Director of the Center for Economic Opportunity, at the Independent Women's Forum (IWF).
Patrice has written extensively on the impact that over-regulation has on the economic stability of America's middle and working-class families.
American families are feeling the squeeze from out-of-control inflation. Patrice talks about how the Biden Administration may bring more grief to hardworking families by overtaxing low-income workers relying on the gig economy.
Patrice also talks about IWF's fight to ensure that protections for biological females are not erased. The fight is taking place on the sports field, in the classroom and local, state and federal governing chambers.
IWF is also working double time to support policies that protect youth. As the number of transgender-indentifying youth has nearly doubled in recent years, IWF is giving voice to those who feel silenced as they push back against the one-sided "affirmation-only" model that promotes experimental drugs and medically invasive surgeries. You must follow their Identity Crisis documentary series. These are the stories the transgender movement does not want you to hear.

Also Dean highlights the danger of what happens when the media goes silent on covering the attacks that have taken place at over 150, pro-life organizations.

Over the last several elections, we have seen the vital role state legislators play in protecting our fundamental freedoms. State legislators are guardians protecting parental rights, religious liberties, education and economic freedom. The American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) has been one of their most important resources for half a century.
ALEC is both a networking and training resource for state legislators. ALEC is the nation’s largest nonpartisan voluntary membership organization for state legislators dedicated to the principles of limited government, free markets and federalism.
In this episode of Policy and Pound Cake, #TheBassSisters talk with Lisa Nelson who has served as CEO of ALEC for almost a decade.
ALEC resources:
For 15 years, ALEC has provided a report card to determine the economic health of states. In addition to helping #TheBassSisters chart their retirement destination, the report reveals important factors about how model policies build strong conditions. The report Rich State Poor State ranks each state on 15 policy variables. Ultimately, states with policies focused on tax and spend measures fall at the bottom of the Rich State Poor State ranking.
How does your Governor rate? ALEC believes that even governors who have been dealt lousy hands such as long-devasted economies and uncooperative legislatures can rise above it by proposing positive economic policies, vetoing poor ones and exercising the power of the podium. Do you want to learn how your governor made the cut? Visit RankMyGovernor.org.
Americans distrust the media today more than ever. According to Gallup polling over the last 50 years, confidence in the newspaper has plummeted from 39% in 1972 to 11% in 2022. Television news is fairing even worse, dropping from 48% in 1993 to 11% in 2022.
In this episode of Policy & Pound Cake, #TheBassSisters talk with veteran communicator Armstrong Williams about the demise of the fourth estate, the importance of free speech and the dangers of censoring voices in a democratic republic.
“The media has really shirked its responsibility and have become activists instead of journalists.” - Armstrong Williams
The Bass Sisters talk with Christian Watson of ColorUsUnited.org. Christian is a young conservative thought leader who is unafraid to challenge Woke and Broke culture.

The Bass Sisters talk about their #TheWomanKing experience. The film, with its primarily Black female cast led by #ViolaDavis, is receiving mixed reviews.
The Bass Sisters celebrate the depiction of mentally and physically STRONG black female characters because they believe that representation matters.
But here's the kicker...ideological representation matters to them as well. This is why if given a choice to vote between a white man who shares their views on the horrors of abortion, the power of school choice, or the importance of parental rights over a black woman who did not share their opinions on those subjects...they would vote for the white man who shares their political world view because IDEOLOGICAL representation matters.
The Bass Sisters also point out why boycotting this film because it is not 100% accurate is an unwise exercise. First, when is film EVER 100% accurate? Second, if The Woman King doesn't do well at the box office, it will be another generation or more before we can see an intelligent action film with wise and beautiful sunkissed talent.
So be sure to like, share and follow. Oh yeah, and ....Don't live in an echo chamber.
