We always said that we'd rather talk about it first, than report on it later. Well... we've been talking about Syria for over a year. And, I guess we are reporting on it now. Very rarely do we ever see eye to eye on military use and action, but this time we stand together on this. One thing remains a constant... YOU DO NOT GAS PEOPLE. EVER. You do not gas people. We've seen footage of children dying slowly from the effects of nerve agents. Enough is enough. You ever touch a hair on child's head, and I will show absolutely no sympathy for what's to come. And so, here we are. You do not gas people. Ever.

While our politicians are playing financial Russian Roulette with a Fiscal Cliff, the middle-east is playing with a firestorm of their own. Egyptians are rioting in the streets and the Syrian government is prepping sarin nerve gas to use on their own people. Back with a chip on our shoulder and a puppy on Kevin's lap, this is Political Discontent Radio.

Twelve years ago, we experienced a defining shift in the way we exist. It was a dynamic moment in time where we got to choose how we go forward. And we gave into fear. We gave into fear, and systematically dismantled everything that made us who we are. Not as citizens of this country, but who and what it was that made us Americans as a people and as a culture. And it is time to ask how we now go forward. And when do we know if we have passed that point of no return? It is time we have that conversation.

I was going to call the show - Paula Dean's Plantation, but that might be a little racially insensitive. Actually, no it won't. The events of this week have been nothing less than repugnant, and there is no better way to draw attention to this fact. I might not be black, but I'll tell you one thing... sometimes I am embarrassed to be white.
