Join our host Senator John D. Johnson as he converses with Phil Lyman, candidate for Governor of the State of Utah, and his running mate, Natalie Clawson.
Hi, I am Phil Lyman. 128 years ago, on January 4, 1896, Utah became a state. What does that mean? What is a state? If we don’t understand personhood, parenthood, and statehood, we are not likely to understand what it means to have a state. We won't understand what it means to have a republican form of government, as each state is guaranteed by the Constitution. I and Natalie Clawson are running for Governor and Lt. Governor of the state of Utah because Utah needs strong leadership. Government power is not supposed to be top-down. Governments derive their just powers from the consent of the governed. Utah is at a crossroads. The values that have made Utah an ideal place to live, work, start a family, start a business, recreate, or just simply to be, are under attack. It is a time to choose, and the right choice is the Lyman/Clawson ticket. We have done extensive internal polling. We have known from the beginning that an upset was possible, now it seems almost inevitable. But we need people to vote. If you are mailing your ballot, remember it needs to be postmarked by Monday, June 24. If you take it to the polls yourself, it needs to be delivered by Tuesday, June 25. Thank you!!
