The Shaping of Kamala Harris’s Campaign and Candidacy

In the 2000s, one Bay Area journalist followed Kamala Harris during her campaigns for San Francisco District Attorney and Attorney General, and also interviewed her mother - Dr. Shyamala Harris. Nina Martin, Feature Editor and reporter for Reveal and Mother Jones talks about her experience chronicling Harris’ rise and runs for office, and how her upbringing shaped her into the presidential candidate she is today.

Fashion Designer Samuel Rose

Fashion designer and educator Samuel Rose has been creating walking pieces of art for years under his labels b:SR and BESPOKE. His work will be on display in a new solo exhibit “Pieces of Me” at the WAL Public Market Gallery through November. Today on Insight, we’ll meet Rose and learn about his process for creating menswear.

“Pieces of Me” by Samuel Rose opens Nov. 8 with a reception from 6 to 9 p.m. at WAL Public Market Gallery, 1104 R Street, Sacramento. The exhibit will be on view from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily through Nov. 30. Artist submissions for the “100 Under 100” exhibit in December are open until Nov. 3.
