This is a conversation about how the lockdown has affected small businesses, particularly those in the informal sector. We will ask ourselves whether the restrictive measures imposed by the Disaster Management Act regulations are helpful in the long-term or not.
What is your view on the manner in which the SA government has approached the COVID-19 crisis? How do you feel it should have been approached?
What is your view on the proposed relaxation of the regulations, particularly with regards to the liquor industry? Do you think that the sale and distribution thereof should be reinstated, despite recent recommendations by the WHO to restrict access to alcohol in the midst of lockdowns?
From your experience of working with small businesses, what are the biggest challenges and what can be done differently to improve the conditions of small businesses?
We will then discuss the pro-life VS anti-poor aspects of the lockdown (in general)
