Still at it with the Smoke Free Media crew out in Houston and today we have the lovely Ms Alexis known as Lex sitting down with us. Aside from being the amazing host of Smoke Free Weekend's game night, Lex is a mental health professional and podcaster. Lex sat down with us, along with Yo Boy AG to discuss mental health as a whole, but especially in the Black community.
When Lex isn't in the middle of pursuing her PhD, she is the voice of "The Free Space" podcast. The Free Space is a place where any topic is allowed and your voice can be heard. Being passionate about mental health, Lex was able to bless us with knowledge and understanding on why mental health is important and how we in the Black community need to recognize it as such. Guess who's out in Houston, TX with the Smoke Free Media crew!!! You guessed it. MTV is in this thang and this week I have an esteemed guest in the building with me... AG from the "Its Yo Boy AG" podcast and of Ambiance Self Care studio. A Gizzle is from Ohio like me, but we are out here in Houston with the rest of the crew!!

Back at ya with another FIRE ass episode. Today we have the pleasure of sitting down with an Ohio hoops legend. Estaban Weaver was already playing against grown men at 12 years old and against current NBA players at age 16!!!! Esty sits down and discusses coming up in Columbus' City League, playing with and against players like Kenny Gregory, Mike Redd, Aaron Turner, Jim Jackson, Dennis Hopson and even against a young Kobe Bryant. Estaban even gives us who, in his option is the greatest player to ever come out of Columbus!!
An hour is in no way enough time to get Estaban's full story. We left a lot on the table and there is more to come! What's going on Podcast family!!! It's your boy MTV back after a long hiatus! A few of my brother in the podcast world seemed to stay in the spotlight at all times and this week is no different. But this week it's over some blah blah blah and it's got the podcast world flip turned upside down! So I'd like to take a minute, just sit right there... while I tell you all about my thoughts from a town called Bel Air. Well that's a lie. I'm in Hollywood. My black ass can't afford Bel Air. Yet. Lol.

July 13, 2018 Change the Channel: 5 Years Since the Acquittal of George Zimmerman
What's going on family!?! A quick Change the Channel today to remember the senseless murder of 17 year old Trayvon Martin by George Zimmerman. It was on July 13, 2013 that Zimmerman was acquitted and we all were reminded that walking home while black was STILL a crime in America. So today on the 5 year anniversary of this event, I just wanted to briefly touch on the life and times of Zimmerman since.
And remember, that at the time of his murder, many referred to young Trayvon as a thug. Geraldo Rivera was famously quoted as saying, "If you dress like a thug, you'll be treated like a thug."

What's good family!!! Welcome back to another dope ass episode of Poolside Chats. Man I am truly excited for today's episode. We have Michael Pulley who is an actor, a model and all around fitness expert sit down with us to discuss his journey from Columbus, OH to Hollywood, CA. The great thing that I loved about today's chat was that Mike was in no way shy about his down times. He was very open and honest about hitting hard times all the way down to sleeping in his car!! Showering at the gym!!! Hollering at chicks just to have somewhere to stay!!!
And this story isn't only about the bad though. Mike bounced back stronger than ever and competed in various fitness competitions, acted in tv shows, commercials and movies... and is a lead character in the upcoming Call of Duty video game! You heard me correctly. He is IN the game. So sit back and listen as Mike describes his never ending journey toward success and why love and never losing sight of his relationship with God kept him strong through it all.
