Hello and welcome to Bill vs the MCU! Each month your hosts Pop Break Podcasts Editor Alex Marcus and Pop Break Editor in Chief Bill Bodkin take another step on their ten month journey to rewatch the ENTIRE Marvel Studios-produced Marvel Cinematic Universe, typically focusing on three or four films from the first four phases of the MCU per episode, reminiscing about their first watches, reflecting on their latest viewings, and considering the wider multiverse ahead!
The reason this podcast came into existence is that our Editor-in-Chief has never finished the Marvel Cinematic Universe. So Alex is guiding him on his journey to actually finish the MCU over the next 12 months.
After spending last month discussing the MCU’s big debut on DisneyPlus, this month we are playing catch up and rewinding the clock to cover the 2021 film releases. That includes Black Widow, Shang Chi & The Legend of the Ten Rings, Eternals, and Spider-Man: No Way Home. We discuss all of the Phase IV trauma processing, the theme of broken families reconnecting, and discuss whether the best therapy is a group session with your older, alternate earth self. You won’t want to miss it.
Black Widow, Shang Chi & The Legend of the Ten Rings, and Eternals are available to stream on Disney+. Spider-Man: No Way Home is available to buy or rent on VOD and to stream on Starz.
There’s arguably no superhero in existence that has been reimagined, redefined, or reinterpreted more than Batman. No matter how many times he’s been rebooted, audiences are always willing to come back to Gotham City’s greatest defender. With so much Bat content out there, there’s plenty to dissect, analyze, and of course, rank! This podcast is dedicated to a surgical evaluation of Batman’s history, with a focus on ranking several topics in the world of Batman, among other classic Bat themes and characters.
Join host Daniel Cohen, Pop Break’s former Film Editor and Resident Bat-Maven, as he brings on several guests every month to share his passion for the one and only Dark Knight. From Adam West to Robert Pattinson, no bat stone will be left unturned. Bottom-line: If you’re a Batman fan, this is required listening.
This month, the Bat Crew takes a break from rankings as they fire up the oversized Bat Computer and look ahead to what’s in store for Batman, covering all the big news of the summer.

Welcome to “Not Couple Goals” where co-hosts Allie Nelson and Tyler McCarthy do a deep dive into a different ridiculous romantic thriller from the vantage point of their long-term relationship.
Allie, a TV writer/producer and actress, has an affinity for romantic thrillers, the more salacious the better. Tyler, an entertainment reporter and critic, often finds himself drawn in despite his better judgment. Join them as they explore all the ways it’s possible to love too hard… like WAY too hard.
This week, Allie and Tyler are joined by their special guest, writer and stand-up comedian Jess Sager, to talk about the 2015 Jennifer Lopez erotic thriller, “The Boy Next Door.” Join them as they question how JLo ended up in the movie, discuss the infamous sex scene, and decide when you should FINALLY go to the police if you’re being blackmailed. They also break down how obsessed yet ignorant the movie was with “The Illiad.”
Special thanks to Mallory Johns for the introduction music.
Please don’t forget to follow our hosts on Twitter @ANelRetentive & @TylerMcCarthy and check out Tyler’s writing at USA Insider and Allie’s at Parade!
Aaron and Josh Sarnecky are back for their latest film podcast. This time they’re talking about Spirited Away.
Spirited Away is an animated fantasy film directed by Hayao Miyazaki. Released in Japan in 2001, the film opened in the U.S. on September 20, 2002.
The movie follows a 10-year-old girl named Chihiro (Daveigh Chase), who must rescue her parents after the witch Yubaba (Suzanne Pleshette) turns them into pigs. Guiding Chihiro through the spirit world are the spirits Haku (Jason Marsden) and Lin (Susan Egan).
Spirited Away was an enormous financial success and garnered universal acclaim, winning Best Animated Feature at the Oscars.
Josh and Aaron talk about the movie’s plot, characters, themes, and animation. They also discuss its place among Studio Ghibli’s features.
For more anime, you can listen to Josh and Aaron talk about Pokémon.
Spirited Away is streaming on HBO Max.
Ever since Marshall Craig was taken from us on December 18, 2020, his mother Carla Craig has worked tirelessly with his friends and loved ones to ensure his memory lives on. So far, this has led to his massive book collection being donated to the library at his Alumni, The California University Of Pennsylvania, a bench installed at a park where he loved to see the sunset, and the beginnings of a charity called Marshall’s Revolution.
This is a year long miniseries designed by The Pop Break Staff Writer Sam Niles to progress his memory by having some discussions about movies in Marshall’s collection. Marshall has an incredible collection and could talk for hours about film, so some of his friends got together and made a podcast to invite guests with both a passion and knowledge for film to discuss selections from his collection once a month.
On this episode of Marshall’s Movies, fellow Kaiju fan Miles Hartl joins us to discuss the 1933 classic, King Kong. We discuss the inherent magic of cinema, the revolutionary visual effects of the film that stand on their own merit to this day, and Kong’s legacy in blockbuster cinema.

This week, Allie and Tyler have a look at quite possibly their sexiest movie yet, The Voyeurs starring Sydney Sweeney, Ben Hardy, Justice Smith and Natasha Liu Bordizzo. Listen as they recap the many twists this movie definitely didn’t need. They also reveal just how far they’ll go when it comes to spying on their neighbors (Short answer: Not as far as the people in The Voyeurs, but more than is probably acceptable).

This week, however, we are kicking off our coverage of Phase 4, which is the first phase of the MCU to OFFICIALLY include TV series, and that will be our focus today, as we review all four 2021 DisneyPlus originals. That includes WandaVision, The Falcon & The Winter Soldier, Loki, and Hawkeye.

In this episode, Chris Mancini joins Justin, Luke, and Noah to explore Rush’s proggiest effort to date.
