Pop, a bonafide expert in situational awareness and how to handle yourself in the midst of an active killer, discusses the most recent monster massacre that happened in Florida with Jay, a public high school teacher. Although the topic is dark and troublesome, this father/daughter duo offer hopeful insights as to how we all can better prepare ourselves for such circumstances. Don't let the mindless voices out there get to you: guns aren't the problem here. We wade through the weak and wanton political rhetoric to get to the heart (and, more importantly, the mind) of the issue.

Of course, in this culture of tweeting and bleating, posting and boasting, insta-this and hashtag-that, it can be quite challenging to remember that we are called to be the light of the world. The Bible is FULL of God telling us not to be afraid, not to mention other religions and even secular society. From Popes and Saintst to talk-show hosts and fortune cookies, we all have been told not to fear in varying ways, and with good reason. Fear not faithful listeners--Pop and Jess will help you with some practical techniques and advice to help get through anxiety and fear.

Well, it's Election Day/The Apocalypse, so we bring to you a little distraction in the form of religious musings. Or maybe these could be considered philosophical ponderings. Cosmic contemplations? Well, whatever you call it, it's something other than the end of the world as we know it, so strap in and come along with us as we talk about how the big guy upstairs comes to us all in different ways/shapes/manners/ and forms. From the whisperiest whisper to the shoutiest shout, God talks to us all...if only we will LISTEN.

It's just so en vogue to call everyone racist, why not? Well, when you're talking about law enforcement, one good reason not to is because it makes them and all the rest of us WAYYYYY less safe. From BLM to SJW to HRC to the DNC to the CBC, we have so much contrived civil unrest by ze acronym of your choice, and you know how much we love to discuss these easygoing topics. In this episode, Pop and Jess tackle what many of the greatest minds have called the most powerful argument against God: the problem of pain. How can an all good God allow suffering? He must either be not all powerful or not all good. You won't find rationalizing here--we have all had too many horrible experiences in our lives to not empathize with the emptiness that often accompanies great suffering. Maybe not our most "lighthearted" podcast, but definitely one of the most important. And we do joke a bit about Trump--believe me.
