She discusses trying to stick to a routine of some sort in between the mayhem of her amazing friend’s events. Sarah discusses getting used to being back in the office environment and starting her latest corporate role.
We discuss the tweaks and adaptations we personally implement that support us in attending social events and approaching work as confidently as possible with our IBD’s.

Join us in speaking with the incredible Liam about his journey with Ulcerative Colitis.

Join us in talking to the incredible Harry J Thomas, M.D. a gastroenterologist currently based in Austin, Texas.
We sat down with Dr. Thomas and discussed everything IBD related including treatment plans, COVID-19, accessibility of treatment, advice around attending appointments with clinicians, and the current research and development within the IBD world.
He is an extremely forward thinking and open-minded clinician, who is incredibly warm, compassionate and empathetic. We absolutely loved speaking with Dr Thomas and really hope you enjoy this episode.
Dr. Thomas received his bachelor's degree in natural sciences from the University of Cambridge, a medical degree from the University of Oxford and his masters degree in public health from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine. Dr Thomas After serving as a house officer in the U.K. National Health Service, he completed his internship and residency in medicine and fellowship in gastroenterology at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School, both in Boston. He moved to Austin in 2014 and practiced at Baylor Scott & White where he was an assistant professor of medicine at Texas A&M prior to joining Austin Gastroenterology. His clinical interests are inflammatory bowel diseases and he has served as Site Principal Investigator for multiple phase I-IV clinical trials in Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. Dr. Thomas serves on the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation Austin Leadership Board and is Chair of the Austin Mission Committee. In addition, he serves on the Board of Directors of People’s Community Clinic, a federally qualified health center in Austin.
Join us talking to Darcie, a registered holistic nutritionist, in concentrating on health, fitness and wellbeing. Darcie concentrates on how she supports her clients with brain fog, energy, digestion, caffeine addiction, bloating and fatigue.
Darcie is an incredible woman who had ovarian cancer, changed her career from a biologist to a nutritionist, had her beautiful daughter Rosie and maintains a productive and healthy lifestyle in Canada.

Phoebe is currently within the frustrating stage of getting diagnosed, experiencing a number of painful, infuriating and challenging symptoms. She opens up, with no area untouched, about her current physical and psychological health and symptoms she is experiencing. Phoebe’s transparency around her health and wellbeing, alongside her outlook in general, will ensure you fall in love with her as much as we have.
She is incredibly charismatic and shares her life in depth discussing her most recent change in career, going back to studying, traveling Europe and going through a challenging break up.
Phoebe provides an insight into how she manages her symptoms, enforces self-care, encourages everyone to move out of their comfort zone, feeling confident in saying no, having self-awareness, reflecting, and focusing on a calm life. This is not an episode to miss, especially should you be experiencing symptoms and have yet to be diagnosed.

Join us in interviewing the incredible Sophie who was diagnosed with Lyme Disease. Sophie explains the challenging 9 year diagnosis period which resulted in a series of events which she will never forget.
Sophie was previously an Olympic youth swimmer and was training for the London 2012 Olympics. She had a dramatic change to her life following on from her diagnosis, having to stop competing and focusing on her physical and psychological health.
Sophie has continued to support others with their illnesses, by providing a platform on social media in discussing illness openly and admirably, writes an inspiring blog, has her own podcast “Chronic but iconic” and has written three books.
Sophie’s selfless acts encompass her day to day life and we absolutely loved interviewing her.

Join us in speaking with Antony Cousins, CEO of Factmata, and Sarah’s previous boss from London, about his and Sarah’s experience of when she was first diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis.
This episode concentrates on how employers can support individuals with health conditions and offers advice to employees on how to approach employers when you have been diagnosed with a physical or psychological health condition. Ant supported Sarah immensely when she became extremely unwell very quickly in 2015, and provided Sarah with the flexibility to work remotely which supported her throughout her initial diagnosis journey. This continued during a time at which Sarah was undergoing extremely intrusive treatment for her Ulcerative Colitis. This is a really insightful episode into how to manage your career or profession while having an IBD.

Organisations raising money for Ukraine, and Australian flood victims:
The Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) launched an Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal to raise funds for food, water, medicine, protection and trauma care for people fleeing the war.
The International Committee of the Red Cross is working closely with the Ukrainian Red Cross Society to provide emergency assistance and support local hospitals and primary healthcare facilities with medical equipment.
Australian Red Cross is raising money for those impacted by the floods in Queensland and New South Wales.
