FINALLY! After the bulk of our pandemic fears have subsided, Richard and Declan actually had a chance to see one another to talk about movies again... IN PERSON. 

Evidently this lead to a shorter episode, because social interaction is important and we needed to scour the local mercantile for Kombucha, Craft Beer, and overpriced espresso. But before that adventure could start, we had to get this podcast up and running. 

Not much news in this episode, aside from our usual follow-ups to theatres. Some news with Tiff, Drive-Ins, casting calls, and what to expect in the future with our channel. 

As we mentioned, we watched In The Mood for Love (2000) by Wong Kar-wai. If you want to skip to that talk - skip ahead to 17:30 in the podcast and enjoy the talk about the movie! 

We will be watching The Polka King for next week. It is a Netflix original film, so look for it there if you want to watch along.

Declan and Richard embark further into their venture into movies that make them feel things... Once again a film has been chosen that really needs to be spoken about and deserves more attention to anyone around the globe that enjoys watching movies.

Who woulda thunk it. Just Mercy feels much like an updated and more factual recount of a story similar to To Kill A Mockingbird. 

Declan and Richard go over a few news pieces such as: The 4k Alexa discussion, Tenet's inevitable release and a dive into the film Just Mercy. 

Also lots of news has come out since we recorded this episode on June 12. So next week's episode will continue to update the stories that have been changing since. 

As an FYI - Tenet has changed its initial release date from July 17 to July 31... Meaning is it actually a spiritual sequel to Inception? More to follow.

Welcome to Episode 2. This week Declan and Richard go a little bit in-depth on the film LION (2016) as promised in the week's previous episode. 

Before that though, they explore some of the relevant topics happening in film news and bring up huge concerns in the Canadian film marketplace. Sounds like a bit of a doozy, but don't be too alarmed, we can't remember our own name, we drink coffee too loud and munch on granola bars at the most inopportune times. Obviously this isn't our forte' but hey, can't fault us for having some fun with it.

Hello and Welcome to the first ever episode of the Popcorn Pillowtalk official podcast. Name is gonna be a bit to get used to, but thanks for tuning in to our hosts Richard and Declan as they embark on a chat about film and the multitude of different topics that it covers. We will be exploring news, topical subject matter, our thoughts and opinions, general discussions, and insights into the foray into movies and television. 

During our first episode, aside from introductions we make note of some important black American filmmakers and their relevance to what is happening in the media right now, the celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Arri Alexa camera system, a brief aside on the Fujifilm XT-4 camera, some films we've watched over the quarantine, along with what to look forward to in the coming episodes. 

We hope to continue exploring movie news as it continues to develop and give our thoughts on how the world of cinema is changing around us.
