On Thursday, June 7th, Doug Ford was elected as the next premier of Ontario in what has been described as Canada's dirtiest political race in recent history. In many ways, it seemed a little too familiar to the populist politics we saw in the 2016 U.S presidential campaign. Is the Ontario Election an indicator that U.S. style politics could become the new norm in Canada?
