In today’s PorscheCooled Podcast Michael presents episode 34 of owner stories with Simon from Adelaide in Australia. Simon’s first introduction to Porsche was as a kid when his dad purchased a ‘82 Porsche 928S. Simon’s car journey started with a shared Honda, but his ‘first car’ was a Japanese import (and very rare) Toyota Supra. Fast forward a few years and Simon purchased a Lotus Exige before he purchased his first Porsche. Once he felt comfortable, Simon went all in here and bought a 996 GT3. A car which had been set up for the track by the previous owner, just what Simon wanted. Simons friends started buying 911 cup cars so that’s what eventually followed. Simon found a 03 911 (996) Cup car, a car he is still enjoying today. That’s not the end of the story. For the first couple of years Simon did not miss the road going GT3 at all, that has now changed, and he recently acquired a 996.2 GT3.
