James the Apostle makes it very clear that as believers we ought to be ready hearers of the word of God. But he also exhorts Christian to be doers of the word, that is, put into practice what they hear preached to them.

What an honour was given to Moses when he was chosen to be Israel's deliverer, and given the opportunity to serve the great I AM. All who are called into full time service are given that same privilege.

It is of course important for believers to have a desire to listen to the preaching of God's Word. It is also important to heed the word that we hear, if we want to mature in our Christian life.

Before anyone goes forth to serve the Lord, it is important that they are called of God, then sent forth to serve by God. Moses was a man who was both called then sent by God to be Isreal's deliverer.

It is important for all who enter into full time service for the Lord, that they receive a call from God and be sent forth by Him. That call will come through the Word of God.

The Apostle James makes it clear that it is important for the Christian to give attention to the hearing of the preached word. There ought to be an interest in sitting under the preaching of the word. It is important to heed what is being preached.

The Lord revealed Himself to Moses from the midst of a burning bush. Moses was amazed to see the bush burn yet it was not consumed. There are a number of lessons to be learned from the burning bush, all pointing to Christ.

Living so close to the Saviour, John the disciple had the opportunity to listen to the heartbeat of Christ. Being so intimate with the Lord, he could ask the Lord for things that the others did not feel confident enough to do.

God was pleased to choose and use Moses to lead Israel out of the house of bondage. But what kind of man was Moses, and how did God prepare him for the great work which lay before him-

There was one of the Lord's disciples who was so close to Him, that he was able to listen to His heartbeat.
