The Mayor insists people are "riding bikes and buying produce" while business owners literally fear for their lives, and the Governor stands downtown pretending it's not a wasteland with a 35% vacancy rate. Here's the kicker: crime stats magically drop when police stop filing reports – who could have seen that coming? Is anyone surprised that Portland has the highest office vacancy rate in the country? What did they expect when they let machete-wielding addicts run wild while small businesses get robbed twice a year?
