Sadly our audio file on Sunday 2nd Aug was corrupted , but Zak was back this week sharing from Psalm 118 as we continue our series in the Psalms through this Summer break
Zak led us through Psalm 121, and another psalm of great assurance that calls us to trust in the God who will keep us through every challenge and blessing we experience in the Christian life
Zak led us through the wonderful words of Psalm 23, reminding us of the nature of God as our good Shepherd.
As part of the sermon, we began by hearing from Graham Norrie about the real day to day challenges and joys of being a sheep farmer. You can catch up on that video through this link https://vimeo.com/1208858654?share=copy&fl=sv&fe=ci
Ian continued our Summer series in the Psalms, reflecting on the journey of King David recognising the sin in his own heart and seeking the Lord with a Repentant heart.
Florence from ACF kicked off our summer series reflecting on the Psalms, and the practice of lament as a way of bringing our most challenging seasons into God's presence
Zak rounded off our series in Colossians by leading us through the climax to Paul's letter to the church in Colossi - Col 3:17-4:1. In this passage we learned that the gospel radically transforms a family, subverting 1st Century values about family home and restoring dignity to every person who seeks after Jesus.
Vijay, our ACF Pastor, joined us this Sunday to share the final section of Colossians (and the second last in our series - we'll cover the end of Col 3 this coming Sunday). We reflected on what it looks like to mature as followers of Jesus, devoted to prayer, to one another and persevering to the end.
Ian continued our sermon series this Sunday, reading from Col 3:12-17 and reminding us of who we are in Christ and what it means to be a church family that have Jesus at the centre of how we act towards one another.
On Sunday Zak led us through Col 3:1-11, which calls us to see that we are truly hidden in Christ, and which challenges us to consider how we can live true to this new reality.
Today Zak shared from Col 2:6-23, and explored what the promise of life in all its fullness actually looks like. Zak reminds us that we find a full life not by the means the world offers - experiences and unrestricted freedom- instead we find a full life when we seek Jesus in each part.
