#154// So, Harrison Butker "went and did it" when he shared during his commencement address at Benedictine College that he suspected many women will find their greatest fulfillment in the vocations of marriage and motherhood. And the internet. Went. WILD.

Quite frankly, I find it fascinating that so many people who do not identify as staunch Catholics actually cared about his comments at all. I mean, WHY do we care? Why are we even listening to a commencement address being shared at a traditionally conservative, Catholic college if we don't go there, have kids graduating from there and/or are not Catholic? I believe it's because of the "outrage mentality" and "cancel culture" we've curated into our online platforms over the last decade, and I think this is dangerous on many levels. But primarily it's making folks forget that (a) not everything applies to us, and (b) we don't have to "weigh in" with our personal opinion on things that don't apply to us. But I digress.

On this episode of the Positioned to Prosper podcast, I want to unpack this question, "Can Christian Women Be Breadwinners?". Because, in light of this "women's rights whirlwind" that got set off when folks started responding to Butker's statements, we would do well to get into the Bible and see what the Word of God has to say about a woman's role, specifically around working outside the home and bringing in an income. #153// You can't beg, borrow or buy more time in this life, but you *can* do things to increase the quality and impact of the years you've been given when you steward your health well.

I became a certified holistic health coach almost a decade ago because I felt the Lord leading me to do so. He spoke two things to me in 2014 that inspired me to embrace my role in helping His people in the area of their health:

First, He reminded me that His Body, the Church, *should* be the healthiest body on the face of the planet, and yet we are not. The statistics around illness and death are no different for those within the Body than they are for the general public. With everything we have available to us -- the blood of Jesus, His stripes that He bore for us, the alive and active Word of God, prayer for healing, the empowerment of the Holy Spirit -- we should be walking in a very different experience when it comes to our health. This fired me up to help God's people to apprehend every good thing He has won for us including vibrant and robust health in this life.

Second, He inspired me with a passion to teach people how to steward their own health in such a way that they'd live long enough and strong enough to do and be all He created them for. I have such a fire on the inside of me to help people pick up their own personal responsibility and sufficiency in Him when it comes to stewarding their health excellently. Zeroing in on the seven pillars of wellness without overwhelm has been a big part of articulating how folks can step into this responsibility and sufficiency powerfully without being constantly plagued with stress and anxiety as they're walking it out.

#152// God made man on the sixth day and then He rested. Which means man's first day of existence was a day of rest and reflection. We were designed to do all things from rest first.

I remember having this revelation almost ten years ago when listening to a talk by Graham Cooke -- "If God brought man into the world and then immediately immersed him in rest, why am I continually organizing my life and efforts in such a way that I'm working towards and for rest instead of from it? Why am I doing it backwards?" And if I made the adjustment to approach my work and order Biblically -- from Rest -- would I be less tired and worn out? Would I have less to complain about and experience disappointment around?

#150 // Compliance only works as long as you're compliant. Willpower is not the fuel that'll get you to breakthrough.

Do you need a different experience when it comes to your finances? Maybe you've done all the programs, followed all the plans, used all the budgeting apps "they" told you to, but you're still feeling like "this isn't it." Do you know deep down that you're meant for more in this life, and being bullied by your bank account and budgeting spreadsheets just isn't the road that'll get you there?

Here's the truth: Snowball strategies, cash envelopes and "we'll load it all in for you and organize it" budgeting apps are not enough to prosper you financially. This is the straight up reality of human nature, my friend.
