Our guest today is Barbara Trask Lovett, if that name sounds familiar to you then you're probably friends with us on facebook!  Barbara has dedicated herself and her life really, to a particular elephant named Nosey.  If you've seen PATHE Magazine you know Kellie LOVES elephants dearly and we actually featured Arte for Elephants and it's founder, Thyra Rutter, on a previous issue.   Look for Barbara on an upcoming issue.

So who is Nosey the Elephant? Well, in short she's a wild-born elephant who was captured and sent to a solitary life in captivity.  She's been alone, mistreated and has developed arthritis and other health issues.  Barbara is trying to raise enough money and enough knowledge about Nosey's situation to send her to an elephant sanctuary.

Relationships.  We all have them in different forms throughout our lives.  What makes a good one?  How do you know when it might be time to move on or put some distance between yourself and someone you've had a relationship with?  We're not talking only about "romantic" relationships either...friendships, co-workers, parents, children...and many other relationships need to be cultivated, need room to grow and often times they fade away.

Factory farming has an impact on each of us as well as the planet itself.  Once upon a time we pretty much knew where our food came from because we knew the farmer or rancher - or at least we knew who they were. But factory farming came in, under the guise of producing more food more efficiently to feed a growing population, and the family farm became almost extinct.  Over the past several decades more and more people have become more concerned with not only who is growing their food and how far it travels but with how their food is being grown or raised.  Social media has made it more obvious how food is grown in fields and orchards and videos showing animals being raised for food in horrible conditions are shared more and more often.  As a result more organizations like the Humane Farming Association are popping up in an effort to protect the animals and educate the food-buying public.  That's where we're starting today's show!  Stay tuned and see where we end up.

Self love.  Yep.  Difficult topic for many people to grasp.  So what exactly is "self love?"  To many people, self-love seems to be self-absorbtion, being self-centered and often even a bit "cocky." But is that really what self love is?  Nope.  Not even close.  Yes, loving yourself means putting yourself first but that doesn't mean you aren't concerned with others at the same time.  Actually you really can't take care of or even fully love anyone else if you don't first take care of and love yourself.  Hmmm what do YOU think?
