At the age of only 17, Alana decided to write a book detailing her less than perfect past of abuse, loss, and bullying. She published her book shortly after she turned 18. Alana wrote The Newfound Legacy in hopes to break the stigmas surrounding these difficult topics so we can begin to make real change. Her goal is to take on a challenge that not many are willing to even acknowledge - create passion around these topics and inspire others as well as give a voice to those who feel they don’t have one. So many people say that they want to make a change in these areas, however, they aren’t emotionally connected to the topic on a level that will lead them to actually do anything about that desire. That’s where Alana comes in. She told her story in a way that almost forces readers to make a connection before they know the full extent of what happened. She may only be 18, but she is on a mission. Her voice will no longer go unheard. She believes that life is love and love is a legacy… My legacy.
