Ashley Honsberger has been the Executive Director of the Poultry Industry Council since late 2019.  Prior to that, she was Executive Director for the Agri-food Management Institute, an organization that offered business management training for the agri-food sector.  In all of the work she does, Ashley enjoys leveraging the power of the ag community to bring forward the best education, resources, and initiatives possible.

 Dr. Jasek earned a doctorate in poultry science from Texas A&M  University, with five years’ experience as a graduate research assistant  in the Department of Poultry Science. He is lead- or co-author on many  peer-reviewed poultry research publications, proceedings papers and  presentations with published abstracts. His professional experience  includes internships at two large, multinational food companies, where  he implemented projects related to broiler production nutrition as well  as layer, pullet and egg processing.

Danny Leckie serves as HATCH for Hunger’s executive director. The Florida native has extensive agriculture experience, having served in several sales, marketing and product management positions at Dow AgroSciences and Corteva Agriscience. Leckie is a University of Florida graduate, married and the father of three children. When not promoting animal protein and spending time with his family, he enjoys playing golf and has even recorded three hole-in-ones.

Dr. Alissa Welsher received her bachelor’s degree in biological sciences from the University of Pittsburgh and a master’s degree in poultry science and doctorate in cell and molecular biology from the University of Arkansas. Her area of expertise is molecular physiology, specializing in heat stress and gut health.

Benoit Lanthier provides technical service to Cobb customers in Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Manitoba and Saskatchewan. Prior to joining Cobb, Lanthier worked as a poultry veterinary consultant gaining experience in hatcheries, feed mills and product development, including knowledge in reducing antibiotic use in broilers.

About Our Guest:

Benoit graduated from vet school in 2012. He started to work in poultry with La Coop fédérée while working on his Master degree which he completed in 2015. Between 2016 and 2018, he worked as a consultant for various poultry operations in Québec and he did technical service for Jefo Nutrition in Latin America and South East Asia with a special focus on antibiotic free broiler production and salmonella control.

Benoit joined Cobb in 2018 as a technical service manager for Canada. He visits customers in many provinces to support them with everything related to breeder production.

Dr. Nick Wagner is a professional services veterinarian with the Animal Safety Division at Neogen. In this role, he provides technical support to the sales and marketing teams for the swine, poultry, and cattle industries, assists with research and development projects, and performs necessary pharmacovigilance activities. Prior to joining Neogen, Dr. Wagner had 13 years of experience in the veterinary profession as a food animal practitioner and public health regulatory official. During his 7 years in private clinical practice, Dr. Wagner focused on the diagnosis, treatment, and herd health of dairy cattle, swine, beef cattle, and small ruminants. Serving as a public health veterinarian with the Ohio Department of Agriculture for 6 years, Dr. Wagner focused on the consistent supportable regulatory enforcement of USDA food safety regulations pertaining to animal and carcass dispositions, sanitation, HACCP, labeling, and animal welfare within meat and poultry processing facilities. Dr. Wagner received his Bachelor of Science degree in Agribusiness and Applied Economics in 2001 and his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2005 both from The Ohio State University. Dr. Wagner’s work at Neogen and throughout his professional career is driven by a commitment to serve the livestock and poultry industries while focusing on the need to provide safe, quality, nutritious, and affordable food for consumers globally.

Matt Meyer is the sales manager for the Animal Protein Team at Neogen.  In this role, he manages 10 field sales people focused on providing Neogen industry leading biosecurity solutions to swine, poultry, and cattle customers throughout North America.  Prior to his current position, Matt has held several other sales roles at Neogen and has a background in Ruminant Nutrition.  Matt received his Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture Biotechnology from the University of Kentucky in 2006 and currently resides just outside of Fort Collins, CO.
