December 29, 2022 2022 Mayo Bowl Preview - Maryland vs North Carolina St
Disappointing finish for both teams. Especially NC State who was looking for a big year.
Dave Doeren has a strong programs, but has yet to get to that elusive 10 win mark. This seemed like the year, but with a multitude of injs, including their star QB, there was too much to overcome late in the year.
Maryland is a program on the rise with Mike Locksley, but they still haven't figured out how to beat the big boys. They also dealt with an injured star QB throughout the year, but he's back for this game. Unfortunately, 3 of his WRs will not be playing.
Two really good Defenses and some time to see what the coaches come up with on Offense. NCSt seems fired up to finish on a high note. Can Taulia save the day for Maryland?

December 29, 2022 2022 Alamo Bowl Preview - Texas vs Washington
Finally a playoff type of Bowl Game.
Kalen DoBoer had a big first year in Washington with Penix as his QB. Strong D as well and surprising to me that they are underdogs.
Steve Sarkisian is bringing Texas back. Huge Defensive improvement this year, but somewhat disappointing QB play by Ewers. They are without their fantastic RB and LB and possibly others.
A lot of eyes will be on this game. It's a chance for Penix to show what he can do. It's also a home game for Texas, so Ewers will have the crowd on his side in his home state. He will be fired up to show he's worthy of all the talk.
Interesting to see how this plays out, but definitely Washington had the better year and all their players are ready to go.

December 29, 2022 2022 Cheez-It Bowl Preview - Oklahoma vs Florida State
OU has had a rough year, but you never know. They have the Talent + Schemes for an upset.
FSU has had a huge turnaround. Could have been even better than 9-3. Strong Defense with a Dynamic QB leading them on Offense.
OU is missing both OTs + their RB and basically playing on the road with the game in Florida. Can QB Gabriel pull off an angelic-like miracle?

PJ Fleck has his original OC Kirk Ciarrocca back for a team that relies on the Power Run Game and a great Pass Defense to win games. Will his veteran QB Tanner Morgan come back from injury for one last hurrah!?
Syracuse has lost both Coordinators, their talented RB and 3/4 of their strong Defensive Backfield. Can they somehow take advantage of having a "Home Game" in Yankee Stadium and rock-n-roll behind their Dual-Threat QB Shrader?

December 28, 2022 2022 Texas Bowl Preview - Texas Tech vs Ole Miss
Great job by Joey McGuire getting a resurgent TTech program to a Bowl in his first year. Dealt with injuries all year, but his Culture of Team (next man up) prevailed throughout the year.
Ole Miss has a strong Offense and better than advertised D. Lost some tough games at the end after a 7-0 start, but should be ready to roll in this one.
It's in Texas, but McGuire will need his Team Culture to come through again as they are missing a monster OLB in Tyree Wilson for this one.

December 28, 2022 2022 Holiday Bowl Preview - North Carolina vs Oregon
Two strong Offenses led by Dual Threat QBs.
An improving D vs a D that continues to struggle.
A strong Culture w/ players ready to finish the year with a bang in front of a lot of their fans.
An improving Culture that has limped into Bowl Season looking for redemption.
You make the pick but from my viewpoint, with all the DBs out in this game for NC, Derek Maye and the Offense will need to finish Drives and score points to have any chance vs a very strong, motivated Oregon team under 1st yr HC Dan Lanning.

Leipold is turning KU around fast, but a rough ending to the year with a beat up team.
Pittman looked like he had a strong culture heading into this year, but after a tough end to the year questions abound.
Arkansas is still the stronger team, but they are missing a ton of player, while KU is getting theirs back. Arkansas the better team but does that equate to a win?

Mike Elko has turned around Duke in what was supposed to be a major rebuilding year!

Defense has improved tremendously with a bunch of no-name blitzing DBs! Offense led by underrated dual threat QB Riley Leonard!

UCF has to have more passion on D than they showed in the AAC Ch Game. Gus has to come up with something special w/ so many players missing including his two dynamic QBs.

December 28, 2022 2022 Guaranteed Rate Bowl Review - Oklahoma St vs Wisconsin...is this really what we are going to see for the rest of the Bowls?? DKS!
There was a lack of effort on both Ds and cohesiveness on both Os for much of the game.

Wisconsin's Power PS Offense is more simple in what it does, so the execution started coming from that side first. Still, very flat energy on both Defenses until late in the game.

Suddenly, OkSt exploded and Wisc followed suit. Soon the whole crowd was into it and we had an amazing bowl finish! In the words of the famous Vince Lombardi..."What the hell's going on out there!??"

Should we play these Bowl Games? Should we have a Transfer Portal? Different mindsets from Coaches,Players,Media,Fans...and Analysts... I will go with my favorite line .. DKS .. Don't Know Shit... It's something still in Discovery mode...

December 27, 2022 2022 Guaranteed Rate Bowl Preview - Oklahoma St vs Wisconsin
Down years for both teams and another **itshow of a bowl game. The list of players transferring or opting out is enormous on both sides. Both starting QBs are gone.
New Wisconsin Coach Luke Fickell will be on the sidelines. Even with a ton of guys missing on both O & D, I think Jim Leonhard's team will ball out for him one last time.
OKSt is in better shape as most of the guys opting out are on D, where they've struggled all year anyway. They have depth at RB +WR and their backup QBs have played all year.
Will a depleted Wisconsin use what they have left - strong OLine+RBs+defensive scheme of Leonhard - to fight for their leader or will OKSt play motivated and create enough Offense to overcome a bad Defense?
