When it comes to loving, we will probably love others the way we’ve been taught to love. Like when Shawna packed her kids fun backpacks for vacations and then her kids, when they were older, doing that for the kids they babysat. God invites us to watch how he loves and then imitate him. Then Perry learned a lot about his sinful nature as I teenager—that there’s a war within us between the Holy Spirit and our “It’s all about me,” nature. It’s a conversation about how we win this battle by coming back to the cross to tap into the Spirit’s power.
Then we pray for Perry’s friend Ryan, whose wife Janelle is clinging to life. Please pray! She needs a liver transplant. And finally, a conversation about Dr. Les Parrot’s book, * Love Like That: 5 Relationship Secrets from Jesus. * Here are the five: See people. Be approachable. Be more graceful, less judgmental. Be self-giving, less self-absorbed. And become more bold, less fearful: (With this one, Perry shares how God helped him push past his fear and share Jesus with his hooping buddies at GVSU). At the end of the day though, it’s only Christ in us who can give us the strength to love.
