Anna and I celebrate a fantastic week of Caps hockey as our team gets back in the winning side for the week. Highlights include Zach Fucale's shutout performance in his debut, Lars Eller's first goal of the year and Garnet Hathaway's First Star performance, among others. Oh yeah and some guy getting his 742nd career NHL goal...

Could it be that Our Washington Capitals have found themselves in a.....goalie controversy???

Three games, three losses...not exactly a great week for Our Caps...but the Mermaid and I will take you through it all.

We begin with a brief catchup and well wishes to ailing Caps fan Gunnar Dean of the DMV Caps Facebook page.

Also we put out a Public Service Message regarding Veterans' Day this year. Be an advocate for our Vets...they deserve our care.

The hockey coverage features a deep dive of sorts into the one game the Caps earned a point in---the OT loss to the Florida Panthers. Lots to like, and some things not as much.

Happy Halloween!

With the Mermaid out doing holiday duties, the Mrs. admirably fills in....

After proper intros and holiday wishes and warnings I begin with a soapbox moment with regard to recent events....understandably if you wish to skip, it ends about about 13:20.

We then go into a cluster recap (might even be a cluster something else?) of the three games from the week past. Suffice to say they offered a...variety....of quality hockey.

Several things are sure:

---Great Eight is on a TEAR so far

---Our Washington Capitals are still without a regulation loss

---The Triple P will continue to inform and entertain as best we can!

Life as a Caps fan is still good, we are in Week 2 of the season and Our Washington Capitals have still not lost in regulation...

While every game does matter, we dispense with our usual in-depth recaps in favor of a deeper dive into the most recent game against the Flames. Of course the usual highlights are notes are presented in our own way for all games, but as we explain this one was the most telling.

We then have the pleasure of having on as our guest a longtime listener and supporter of the PPP, the Red Rockin' trucker himself Eric Hayes. He comes on and gives us some great stories about his life on the road (live from actually being on the road at the time) as well as his thoughts about this year's team.

In something of an impromptu OT segment we are also visited later on by Robbie Gross of the Sports On the Hill Podcast who comes on to give his customary intuitive observations on the Caps so far in this early season.

Welcome back PPP listeners!

The Mermaid and I kick off our 4th year together and our Washington Capitals' 48th NHL season. We begin with a brief catch up and a celebration of the life of Nicollet Bergren, Anna's mother who recently passed away. Her spirit and sense of life will never leave us.

We move on to hockey specifically the Caps chances this year.  Yes we are cautious but we are also optimistic and the both of us present the many reasons why. No matter what happens, this is going to be a fun team to watch...

Hate to ring in the new season on a sad note, but a promise is a promise...

This episode is dedicated to the memory of Mike Stepp, who was one of the most faithful fans of Our Washington Capitals you would ever have the privilege of knowing. One of the things Mike is most remembered for is his part in creating the Caps Fans Facebook fan page to which this podcast owes a lot to.

Joining me to talk about Mike's life is one of his best friends who moderates and helps out at Caps Fans, Thom Gobble. He and I take time to not only discuss the older days of being a Washington Capitals fan but of course Mike's life in general.
