  • Praestabilis – Excellence in Marketing – 034
Welcome to Episode 34 of Praestabilis: Excellence in Marketing.
In Episode 34 the topic is around the theme of “Practice Makes…Excellence!” No perfection allowed and I discuss the importance of practicing your marketing with blogging and other writing, podcasts and other audio recording, and video marketing. It’s important to hone your craft before you reach out to others in your niche and influencers in the marketplace.
Small business owners and entrepreneurs are in the business of building relationships and “requesting attention” and that guides our actions as we grow our business. The goal is to build credibility, increase visibility, and aim for profitability.
We can increase our relational “currency” in a variety of ways, including:

    * Volunteering – online or in person with small businesses as well as non-profits
    * Connecting with thought leaders and influencers on social media
    * Purchasing a product or course from someone and developing the relationship from there

Thank you for this opportunity to serve you as I share my beliefs, perceptions, and experiences as an author, online entrepreneur, and marketing strategist with you. Marketing has become the joy of my life as I continue to learn, grow, and share concepts with others.
I’m author, publisher, and entrepreneur Connie Ragen Green and would love to connect with you. If you’re new to the world of online entrepreneurship please check out my training on how to sell yourself at Sell Yourself and Your Stuff and learn how to gain an unfair advantage when it comes to building a lucrative online business.

  • Praestabilis – Excellence in Marketing – 033
Welcome to Episode 33 of Praestabilis: Excellence in Marketing.
In Episode 33 the topic is around the idea of the five people you’re spending the most time with. Also known as your “inner circle,” these are the people who may help to shape you as a human being.
Inspirational speaker and author Jim Rohn told us that we are “the average of the five people we spend the most time with.” Over the years I have come to understand that this precept is about much more than just income. Rohn taught me to add up the income of my closest circle and divide by five to determine my average income potential. That’s one aspect of the equation but by no means the only one that will matter to you.
I think back to my childhood and the friends I chose to spend the most time with. Typically we became friends because we lived in close proximity, but they were not always the wisest choicest I could have made.
As an adult I continued to fall in with a crowd that did not serve me, meaning that they did not encourage me to succeed and many times discouraged me from trying to achieve a goal that was important to me, personally or related to one of my careers as a classroom teacher and in real estate.
Coming online at the end of 2005 helped me to understand this concept of seeking out people that would life you up and be excited for you when you were successful. Joining Rotary, an international service organization put me elbow to elbow with people who were unlike any I had known in my life previously.
I want this life for you! Take an objective look at the five people you are spending the most time with right now and ask yourself if each of them is helping you to improve your life and achieve your goals. Are you serving them in any way? And who can count you as one of their five people because you are encouraging them to become the best person they can be?
Thank you for this opportunity to serve you as I share my beliefs, perceptions, and experiences as an author, online entrepreneur, and marketing strategist with you. Marketing has become the joy of my life as I continue to learn, grow, and share concepts with others.

  • Praestabilis – Excellence in Marketing – 032
Welcome to Episode 32 of Praestabilis: Excellence in Marketing.
In Episode 32 the topic is how to use a challenge to create a blog post that becomes a simple, free product that can be extremely profitable over time.
The example I am using is that of the “Productivity Challenge” I have run since 2010. I began with 21 day challenges and soon went to thirty days as a way to connect with new prospects and to serve the people who had already been with me for years.
The first step is to choose a topic for which you can share your knowledge and expertise with others. I recommend that you begin with a ten or fifteen day challenge the first time so it does not become overwhelming to you. Once you have created your blog post (using the name of your challenge as the permalink) then you will purchase the domain name from your registrar. For example, my 30 Day Productivity Challenge for 2020 is at 2020ProductivityChallenge.com.
Every day you will add more content and information to your challenge, and be sure to include links to your own products, courses, books, and services, as well as those of affiliate products you use, benefit from, and recommend.
As your challenge comes to the end, copy and paste the content you have created into a Word document and save it as a PDF. Add the link to this report to the bottom of the post so that visitors to your site may download it and go through it at their own pace. This strategy is a solid one and I sincerely hope you move forward with your own challenge on the topic you are most knowledgeable about. Be sure to share it with me so that I may then share it with my community.
Thank you for this opportunity to serve you as I share my beliefs, perceptions, and experiences as an author, online entrepreneur, and marketing strategist with you. Marketing has become the joy of my life as I continue to learn, grow, and share concepts with others.

  • Praestabilis – Excellence in Marketing – 031
Welcome to Episode 31 of Praestabilis: Excellence in Marketing.
In Episode 31 the topic is how to create and set up highly effective habits. The book I discuss and recommend is “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People” by Stephen R. Covey. This book was first published in 1989 and it withstands the test of time.
    The 7 habits include…
    1) Be Proactive – Principles of Personal Vision
Don’t wait until you find yourself in the position of having to react to a situation; move forward on your own behalf and make things happen.
    2) Begin with the End in Mind – Principles of Personal Leadership
What is the goal you wish to achieve with the actions you are taking? Think about this in every area of your personal and business life. You may discover something more in what you are doing that can open doors for you, or at least allow you to be seen by others in a new or different light than has previously been the case.
    3) Put First Things First – Principles of Personal Management
It is said that the shoemaker’s children sometimes go barefoot. What do you need to take care of on the home front that has been forgotten or neglected over time? What about tasks and activities that are relevant and crucial for your business? I often connect with new and newer authors and entrepreneurs who are working on projects in various areas. Many, many times they have not spent the time and made the effort to lay the proper foundation.
A case in point is that of a woman who had created a product, but did not have a blog or other page where visitors could sign up to join her list. We were on a call with Joe Vitale and he gave out the links to each of our sites. More than a thousand people opted in to my list when he sent them to my blog. The other woman only had a sales page for her product and two people purchased that evening. Everyone else disappeared because she had not set up a way for anyone to opt in. This was a hard lesson for her and one I will never forget.
    4) Think “Win/Win” – Principles of Interpersonal Leadership
Leaders are made, not born. How can you make what you do in your life and business a win/win for others? Be creative as you think of ways to boost other people’s products, courses, books, and reputation. Something I enjoy doing is sharing a recent blog post from people in my community with others. This is a way for them to get their message out to a much larger audience and I am proud and honored to be a part of this with them. Sometimes the people share me with their audiences and it ends up being a win/win no matter what occurs.
    5) Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood – Principles of Empathic Communication
The word empathic means showing an ability to understand and share the feelings of another. Communication is something I work on every day because it was a struggle for me during my younger years. How can we communicate with others in a way that shows we understand and share the other person’s feelings? I believe this is an area that is worthy of further study.
    6) Synergize – Principles of Creative Cooperation
In my world there is no such thing as true competition; instead, we prefer to cooperatively compete and we refer to this as “coopetition.” Think about any kind of business, such as a grocery store or fast food chain and you will see that they engage in coopetiton regularly. That’s why it’s not uncommon to see a Burger King and a McDonald’s on opposite corners of the same intersection.
    7) Sharpen the Saw – Principles of Balanced Self-Renewal
If you only have five minutes to saw down a tree, spend three of them sharpening the saw. We must work on our mindset every day and I am able to achieve this goal more d...

  • Praestabilis – Excellence in Marketing – 030
Welcome to Episode 30 of Praestabilis: Excellence in Marketing.
In Episode 30 I discuss how to take full advantage of the additional time we have now due to the pandemic. There are four areas I want you to focus on to make valuable use of your time. These four areas are writing, creating, marketing, and learning.
Write every day in order to expand your thinking and to get your thoughts and ideas out of your head and into words. This writing may begin as journaling and then take the form of blog posts, short reports, products, courses, trainings, and books.
Creating is how we turn our ideas into something tangible for others to benefit from. I am always creating one or two new products or courses, as well as a new book. Being able to create on a regular basis will open up your life in untold ways.
Have fun with marketing! How will you be able to persuade and convince others to buy what you create? Think of as many ways as possible to get the word out by marketing your own and other people’s products and services.
Learning is a gift you give yourself every day. Once you see it in this way you will look forward to learning as much as you want or need on topics of interest to you, personally and professionally. Enjoy your learning and what you learn will serve you well over time.
These four areas will make a difference for you as an entrepreneur and author. We can make it through this challenging time by knowing it is only temporary and that what happens in our daily life does not define who we are as a human being.
I would love to hear your thoughts on any or all of this, especially if you have specialized knowledge you are ready to share with the world. My goal is to help you achieve your goals and dreams and to create a lifestyle with time freedom and financial freedom.
Thank you for this opportunity to share my beliefs, perceptions, and experiences as an online entrepreneur and marketing strategist with you. Marketing has become the joy of my life as I continue to learn, grow, and share concepts with others.

  • Praestabilis – Excellence in Marketing – 029
Welcome to Episode 29 of Praestabilis: Excellence in Marketing.

In Episode 29 the topic is “When the Going Gets Tough, the Tough Get Going!” In the middle of the pandemic we must stay strong and move forward with our projects and goals. It was never on my “bucket list” to endure and survive a pandemic, but here we are. And please remember, this too shall pass and we will have our lives back to a new normal at some point in the future, just as we did after the 911 crisis in 2001. Many of us were shocked and filled with fear, sadness, and hopelessness during the months after the terrorist attacks, but we must not do that now.
This is the time to find joy in even the smallest things and to commit to being creative. You may have more time available to you during this time and spend it with the people and the projects that have importance to you and hold meaning in your life.
Be IN the world but not OF the world during this time. Stay alert and informed, but refuse to allow thoughts that may be sad or depressing to fill your mind. Be safe, be strong, be a blessing to others, and be more productive than ever.
I would love to hear your thoughts on any or all of this, especially if you have specialized knowledge you are ready to share with the world. My goal is to help you achieve your goals and dreams and to create a lifestyle with time freedom and financial freedom.

  • Praestabilis – Excellence in Marketing – 028
Welcome to Episode 28 of Praestabilis: Excellence in Marketing.

In Episode 28 the topic is the power of eCourses. An eCourse is a series of short (five hundred words or less is best) lessons or parts, delivered by your autoresponder service as daily, or less frequently email messages. I use AWeber for this and you may get started at no cost at http://ConnieLoves.me/Aweber
eCourses are an important part of your overall marketing plan and represent a simple and effective way to get your message out to those who need to hear it from you. Start by creating an outline of the points you wish to cover, and then turn each of your points into a single lesson. I have found that five or seven lessons is optimal, but your eCourse may be shorter or longer in order to cover your topic.
By sharing my own experiences as a public speaker it is my belief that you will be able to move forward more quickly than I did. Speaking on your topic(s) of expertise is an excellent business model that will serve you throughout your lifetime.
I would love to hear your thoughts on any or all of this, especially if you have specialized knowledge you are ready to share with the world. My goal is to help you achieve your goals and dreams and to create a lifestyle with time freedom and financial freedom.

  • Praestabilis – Excellence in Marketing – 027
Welcome to Episode 27 of Praestabilis: Excellence in Marketing.

In Episode 27 the topic I discuss in person networking. I hope this isn’t a lost art because it is extremely effective to meet people face to face to share who you are and what you do. I recently accepted the invitation of a long time friend to attend a mixer for a networking group he has been a part of for two decades. The group wants to open a new chapter in my community and there were about fifty people in attendance that evening. I made it a point to meet everyone, shaking their hand, looking them in the eye and introducing myself. Then I asked each person what they did and what they needed in order to grow their business. I encourage you to explore networking opportunities where you live and get to know as many people as possible.
By sharing my own experiences as a public speaker it is my belief that you will be able to move forward more quickly than I did. Speaking on your topic(s) of expertise is an excellent business model that will serve you throughout your lifetime.

  • Praestabilis – Excellence in Marketing – 025
Welcome to Episode 25 of Praestabilis: Excellence in Marketing.

In Episode 25 I discuss online business in terms of “where I’ve been, what’s current, and where I’m going” and how this is beneficial to you as you build and grow your business. I am dedicated and devoted to helping you succeed as an entrepreneur and author.
I believe that eBooks and short reports will rise in importance during 2020 and beyond. When I started online the only way to sell your eBooks was on your website, as Amazon’s Kindle program had not yet been created. As this makes a comeback and increases in popularity you will want to be on the forefront of this business model. I continue to recommend Jim Edwards and his 7 Day eBook training to teach you everything you need to know.
