Prater & The Ballgame

Looking into the future - Chris Vannini (The Athletic) on the future of Boise State football and B.J. Rains (Idaho Press) on the future of undrafted Derrick Alston Jr., Leon Rice has done a nice job of bringing NBA talent to Boise, and Friday Afternoon Happy Hour - Honey Do's must get done before football starts next week

Prater and Mallory talk to Boise State reporter B.J. Rains (Idaho Press, BlueTurfSports.com) about the future of the football program, and what's the future for Derrick Alston Jr., after failing to go in the NBA Draft on Thursday night.

Prater and Mallory talk to Chris Vannini, national college football and Group of Five writer for The Athletic. He believes all options are on the table - but nothing happens until we find out what the remaining eight teams in the Big 12 want to do moving forward.

The future of Boise State football - fans should be worried based on the recent roller coaster of information, Derrick Alston Jr. hoping to hear his name called in NBA Draft, who plays the good cop/bad cop on the BSU football staff, and expectations for Zach Wilson with the Jets (have you seen their roster?)

Prater and Mallory talk to Donovan Lewis from The Ticket in Dallas, who's covering the Cowboys' training camp in Oxnard, Calif. Lewis touches on all the Boise State connections - and mostly expects a monster season from the Kellen Moore-led offense.

Summer Tour #YearOfTheFan continues at Dutch Bros. in Meridian, we take you straight to Cowboys training camp for a live report, one-on-one interviews with Boise State assistant football coaches, the Simone Biles/mental health debate - and how it compares to Michael Jordan, and whatever happened to Wheaties

Prater and Mallory join Boise State offensive coordinator Tim Plough on The Blue for a candid conversation about quarterbacks Hank Bachmeier and Jack Sears, who open fall camp Aug. 4. Plough has a specific plan and rotation for his QB competition, and said it will start 50-50. He also has a plan for the player who finishes No. 2.
