Pray The Word episodes
- Praying For Our CitiesHello and welcome to the podcast, my name is Nicole. You are listening to Pray the Word. In this season of Pray the Word we will be using a resource called Praying God's Word Over Your City; 40 Days of Prayer Toward a Transformed Community by Trey and Mary Anne Kent, an excellent resource that has more within each "day" than what we share here, and we highly recommend it for those of you called to be watchmen. You can find and purchase their resource here on prayershop.orgThis podcast will be set up so that you can prayer walk with it, using the prompts for more extended and "onsite with insight" prayers. As always, let us know you are praying and the name of your town so we can join you and pray in agreement. At the end of each episode there will be Prayer Points for you to listen and pray through. Be free to pause the podcast at anytime to pray out what Holy Spirit is prompting.Day 1, Thankful For My Community Prayer Points:Reflect on the reason you ended up in your community and thank Jesus for the specific way He placed you in this town.Think about the gifts your community gives to the world and thank Jesus for the impact your city holds. What are some of the struggles I your community that God cold be using to draw people to Himself? Pray that He will use these to reveal His strength in the midst of need and his love in the middle of lack. What opportunities for Jesus are built into the framework of your community? Ask God to raise up harvesters from all different sectors to shine His light in their realms of influence. How might God want to use you in your community? Pray for wisdom, strategy, and strength to use your gifts and influence to bring revival to your city. The greatest blessing God can send (to your city) is Jesus Christ, Who will turn people from their wickedness, and bring them salvation.-Intercessors For America10 min

- Yielded to Christ Our High PriestHello and welcome to the podcast, my name is Nicole and you are listening to Pray The Word.Today we are praying through some principles found in Hebrews Chapter 2:14-18. A good resource to review these principles can be found in a work by Andrew Murray called the Holiest of All. You can find this book wherever you purchase books, and you can also find the free audio recording of this book on LibriVox. Jesus, I am again reminded how grateful I am that you are our high priest. Not only did you secure our atonement and you stand as advocate and intercessor personally, but also you have taken upon yourself to keep us in fellowship with you, understanding our suffering and rendering aid when we desperately cry out and are facing temptation. Not just the temptation of sin, but the temptation to forget your goodness, the temptation to look around us and feel the weight of the world and forget our hope. Jesus thank you for being our high priest, thank you that you understand our suffering because you became human like us. Thank you that we really are crucified with you Jesus and we no longer live but you live in us, and as we yield ourselves to the death of our own plans and purposes and desires, and become the conduit of your life in us and through us, we truly live, and you become once again the hope set before us, and you become our joy. Father I know this does not mean that we will not suffer, but it does mean it is unto a purpose, and we yield to your purposes and we extend to others the help that we experience in the peace of relationship with you. I pray this over each of my sisters who are walking in suffering, or are walking with others who are suffering. May we yield ourselves to you today, just today, and see the goodness of God in the land of the living. As always, please feel free to email me at [email protected]21 min
