Day Six: LIGHT (Walk/Live: Ephesians 4:17-24; 5:3-14) We Pray: May we walk as children of the LIGHT, putting off the old self and putting on the new.
Key Scripture: Ephesians 5:8
For at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light. Adoration: You are a God who dwells in unapproachable LIGHT (1 Timothy 6:15-16).
[Our Lord Jesus Christ] . . . is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone has immortality, who dwells in unapproachable light, whom no one has ever seen or can see. To him be honor and eternal dominion. Amen.
Repentance: Mark 8:34; 1 John 1:6,9
Jesus said, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.” If we say that we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. We love darkness, rather than the light! Reveal our sins, bring them into the light, and help us to confess them!
Ephesians 4:22–24: . . . Put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and . . . be renewed in the spirit of your minds. . . Put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.
[Take time for silent confession]. Intercession: Psalm 43:3
Send out your light and your truth; let them lead me; let them bring me to your holy hill and to your dwelling!
