How did Moses start out this 2nd telling of God’s law for Israel? If they learned the lessons of their past failures, they’d be more likely to depend on God’s grace in the present.

Jesus has set us free from sin; live as a servant of God!

Sin isn’t to be engaged to show off grace; sin is to be killed in the lives of Christians. Don’t let sin be your lord; let Jesus be Lord!

Although we inherited death from Adam, we’ve been given the gift of grace and life in Jesus. Receive His gift and rejoice in it!

Why is the good news good? The gospel is objectively good because of what Jesus does in His death and resurrection. He demonstrates the love of God, and He puts us at peace with God.

Why is the good news so good? In part because of what God graciously gives us, and who God graciously makes us because of Jesus.

What kind of faith is needed for justification? The same faith held by Abraham: faith in the promises of God concerning Jesus.

One of the most important doctrines of the Christian faith, essential to the gospel of Christ is justification by faith. As Paul begins the 4th chapter of Romans, he addresses the what, how, when, and who, of justification by faith.

We all need righteousness; God gives it to those who have faith in Jesus.

It’s only when we see God as perfectly righteous, and ourselves as perfectly not, we finally understand our need for the perfect Savior.
