Paul teaches that God leads His people in a triumphal procession through Christ, and that our lives carry the fragrance of the gospel. Forgiveness and humble dependence reveal Christ to others. Let your life be a pleasing aroma. Grace quote: âForgiveness perfumes the soul with the fragrance of Christ.âÂ

Doris and I have been at this for more than five years now, and we often wonder how much longer God will use us, especially when I oversleep or miss a deadline. But Iâm reminded of a comment found in the book âFrom Famine to Fullness,â by Dean Ulrich; it reads, â Of all that could go wrongâŠin your life, God brings about good. No, we do not always know what good can come out of the situations in our lives, but God does. He makes no mistakes. We can believe that He is up to good on our behalf.âÂ

Description: Todayâs reading reminds us that true knowledge begins with reverent awe of God. Our prayer time this morning was a quiet, steady walk into the presence of God â shaped by Scripture, honest confession, and confident trust. You began by grounding your heart in Psalm 51, asking the Lord to cleanse, renew, and steady your spirit. From there, Psalm 121 lifted your eyes, reminding you that your help comes from the Lord who keeps you, guards you, and never sleeps. You closed with the Lordâs Prayer, aligning your desires with Godâs kingdom, Godâs provision, and Godâs protection.

Psalms 143â145 move from urgent prayer to majestic praise. David models honest supplication and confession; the psalms then call us to praise Godâs greatness and compassion. The remedy for distress is to pair petition with praise, trusting Godâs faithfulness and sovereignty.Â
There is always design in our distress. God so values our trust in Him alone that He will graciously take away everything else in the world that we might be tempted to rely on: even life itself if necessary. His desire is that we grow deeper and stronger in our confidence that He Himself is all we need. Sam Storms

1 Corinthians 14:1â10 urges believers to pursue love and gifts that edify the church. Prophecy, as intelligible speech, builds up the congregation; tongues without interpretation benefit only the speaker. The remedy for pride and confusion is love-guided, intelligible ministry that strengthens others. However, not all words are good words, especially if they are hot words; of this we are reminded by James, who says, Even so the tongue is a little member and boasts great things. See how great a forest a little fire kindles! And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell.

Psalms 132â134 call God to remember His covenant, celebrate unity, and invite worship. These short psalms remind discouraged souls that God dwells with His people and that unity and praise are channels of blessing. Rehearse Godâs promises, pursue unity, and return to worship as the remedy for weariness.Â

Bless the Lord, O my soul, for all that causes praise,Â
My heart rejoices, my spirit soars, Iâm surrounded by Your Praise.Â
